Winning helps everything. There’s no reason to think he won’t be here for year two. He’s not a running back. Two years starting in the west division. He is done with his undergrad in playing qb. Time to get his masters now then head to the league.

Why worry about everything that might happen. I'm just glad we may have really good QB this year that we did not know we were going to have. Just be happy we have him and enjoy the upcoming season.

If Burrow does well here, and is seen to improve, it will help recruiting future QB's. If god forbid, LSU fields a modern, balanced, proficient nationally-ranked offense then the sky is the limit!

I can dream.

Burrows is going to have a HUGE impact on recruiting. If he plays well, then other recruits(namely qbs) will see its ok to believe in the current staff. If he flops, then the reverse is true and our recruiting will suffer. Only time will tell, but this program and staff is at a crossroads and Burrow will either make or break this staff.

I believe it will do the opposite. We’ve had 2 decent QBs in the last 11 years since Jimbo left, Mett and Etling. They were both developed elsewhere. Add Burrow to that stat and only reinforces the fact that we cannot develop the QB position.

Wrong. Even IF he does end up starting at some point, anybody we are recruiting going forward wont choose us based on him being here, because he wont..he'd be gone after their freshman year.
This will end up as another black eye on LSU. How you people are so convinced he is some sort of QB God amazes me. As of now, hes a 3 year backup that couldn't win the job, and hes desperately searching for playing time. There is zero evidence that he can perform better here than what we have...ZERO

It sure gets old reading all these whining, chicken little posts. Instead of enjoying the fact we have a highly skilled QB ready to play, it's all about what may go wrong down the road. I would be willing to bet this comes from someone not happy that GoodOleLess got his sorry arse run off, and from someone who hates our present coach. These posts are pitiful

Serious question..no flaming...why do you say either of these things like they are fact.

Yes, hes skilled, but you have zero knowledge on if he is more skilled than brennan in our system

And the "ready to play" part is puzzling....because NO he isnt pr, dare I say, he would be starting for OSU.

Burrow is not going to the NFL in one year, he will be here for 2...

Gunnell could come in and RS.

Hone his craft and make a charge when Burrows leaves.

Have you not watched Burrow play in the OSU spring game vs what are qbs have done. Just because he didn't start at OSU doesn't mean he isn't better. Hate to break it to you but all of OSU's qbs are better than what LSU has.

That's fine but LSU doesn't seem to be able to land any of these types of QBs. So that's what you want? A freshman QB coming play big time college football at LSU every year?

Yea good luck with that. No we need to keep these guys around to play their one or two years, then off to the NFL. That is what works. Ask any coach or GM if they prefer a guy who's been in thier system for a few years or if they would prefer an 17/18 year old freshman AA 5* Mr. can do anything to come in and run this team full of 21 year old men.

That takes a very special individual and Saban nor Dabo did that overnight. It took them playing the veteran guys to start winning and to catch the eye of that special individual. This just doesn't happen with a snap of the fingers. Right now we need the guys who will come in and wait their turn.

This is the mindset that we need not change. LSU has been playing the young guys and that's worked out so well when we have right?

The reason this guy didn't play at Ohio State is pretty much the same reason we had JJ playing all those years instead of a guy we knew could pass the ball better than he could. JT Barrett won lots of games for them. What's great is that he never complained and always said that he needs to improve his game to overcome that back up role. I have to believe that he didn't just sit there and wait, he prepared himself to be a starter so he will be ready physically, mentally and technique wise. He will need to win over the coaches, the team and learn the offense but once he does that, it's game on.

Everyone I've talked to said that this guy can play the position extremly well. So barring some miricle light switch coming on within the competition from Myles or Narcisse, this guy will be our starter in the fall.

I'm not going to claim he's some QB God or the savior of our team but he bolstered our QB room immediately upon arrival. Whether that be by making the QBs we now have turn their game up or him being able to start. LSU is in a better position now then we were a week ago. That's a fact.

Of course he has to earn it and prove it to everyone but I believe he's very aware of this fact and ready to do so. That's all I think of him. I have no clue how he will perform. I just think he's veteran enough to know what it takes and that's good news for LSU. Period.
