Why wouldn't you try to open up another scholarship? IMO you need to take advantage of situations like this

This is definitely how we want our OTs coming in size wise rather than trying to get a 340 pounder to lose weight.

Now that is actually in the works, meaning not using him as initial counter, and since we are well below our self imposed 82, will get full scholarship next year, but that has 0 to do with his skills, just a unique situation, that we think family is willing to sign off on , for the Betterment of the team.

I trust you Iota. And hope you’re right. But I don’t agree.

Our biggest competitor finds away to take 2/3 extra players every year. You want to keep up, you need to at least the same. Bo is a fringe recruit in the best class in LSU history.

I think Bo is good player. But I also believe Fitz West projects as a better center. I personally can’t see why LSU is taking two centers in this class.

He is Thomas Perry with less impressive film.

If he's a high 3* at 240 then when he gets re-ranked as a 280+lb player with added muscle I would be surprised if he doesn't become a 4 star caliber OL.

Why cause he's white.

He's rated at .8767 - a high 3*.
West, who everyone loves is .8466 3* - a mid 3*.

They went up against the same kids at that camp. They offered West on the spot & they walked away with questions about Bordelon

After what he showed at LSU's camp I highly doubt he becomes a 4-star unless he puts some incredible senior tape out there.

Anyone who watched his big reps from the camp can see he's a project, even with added weight.

What does him being white have to do with anything?

There are not very many occasions that LSU takes the 25th best instate prospect. Hasn’t happened in a few years. The last time it happened was Perry.

I’m hoping I’m wrong here. At this point, I just think West is better, stronger, faster and more powerful and two scholarship spots shouldn’t go to the center position.

This class will be the tightest one yet.

He weighed 275 at the camp he got punished at.

I think you misunderstand what I am trying to say, they actually have 2 commits that they potentially won’t count against the hard no. 25. 1-via grey shirt and 1- via blue shirt. Both depending on families OK with it . So to be clear we potentially can sign 27 this year, very fluid right now, as like every year soooo many variables ahead no one knows for sure. And look , sorry if I offended you, wasn’t my intention, just kinda giving everyone a heads up, MOST of our recruits and their family read here , I am not the etiquette police, but what if was your kid or family being written about not deserving a scholarship??? Enough of that, Let’s all just enjoy our great recruiting Coach O and staff is/will have this year.

Iota, you’re a good poster and an asset to this board.

Appreciated.

I try not to critique recruits and players for the same reason.

Nobody knows how Bordelon will develop. The position is among the most difficult to project.

I for one am glad to see him in the class, and if the family will work with the staff to massage the numbers all the better.

If Bo had a Bama offer, people would feel differently.

He's the #1 kicker on some draft boards and is a 3-year starter after this season, there's a very high chance he leaves, which is why they already got a kicker coming in on scholarship.

He also will have his degree after spring next year, so no reason to stick around if he indeed is the #1 kicker on the draft boards
