The name for LSU to watch is Caden Durham who had another great visit to LSU this past weekend. Still seems like at this time Oklahoma is where he ends up but LSU will continue to press.

4-star RB Caden Durham
On300 Ranking: No. 95
Previous Ranking: No. 225
School: Duncanville (Texas)
On3 RPM: Oklahoma 91.6%, LSU 2.7%, SMU 1.2%, Alabama 1.0%
“Caden Durham stars for Duncanville, who won the state title in Texas’ highest classification this past fall. He was their most productive player on offense, running for close to 2,000 yards and 36 touchdowns as a junior. He’s run 10.49 seconds in the 100-meter dash this spring. He’s a shorter running back at around 5-foot-9, but has a very compact, stout build at 195 pounds. He’s a guy who has filled out. Relative to a lot of other speed backs, he’s thicker and he’s so productive, so we like the build and the speed.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Hopefully we can land him he has been hitting the track meets up hard working on speed. It will be hard pull from OU since Murray recruiting him hard, not far from OU, and mom attended OU running track.

Man it would be crazy to get Kaleb Jackson (23), Caden Durham (24), and Harlem Berry (25), in 3 straight years. That's Les Miles level RB rooms.

If they miss on Caden they might just take two in Simon and Berry next year

The roster and situation is setup to lose cain, williams, emery and add berry, simon

I think if we miss Kelly might just add 1 rb from portal next year for experience.

Id be absolutely shocked if they weren't planning to take multiple RBs in 2025 regardless of what happens with the 2024 class. Even if they land Durham, RB is going to be an *extremely* thin position entering the 2025 season. We won't necessarily be lacking top-end talent, but RB is a position where you absolutely have to have bodies, and there's a good chance we wont have many.
My guess is that the plan is to 1) go all in on Durham as the only RB for the 2024 class, 2) bring in someone from the portal if we miss on him, with the expectation that 3) we use 2025 as the cycle where we load up on RB. Hell, i wouldn't be surprised if we brought in a portal RB for 2025 even if we DO land Durham.
