i got a feeling Ryan Baker is going to be the best LB to come through LSU in a while.

loved him coming out of high school.

thought he was the best player we had on special teams/kick coverage last year. well i guess a tie with ron brooks imo.

is expected to have some pretty good playing time as a true soph despite having other senior LBS. shows what coach thinks of him.

and like i said, just a good feeling.

Biggest/most needed: imho, fwiw

1. RB
1a. LB
followed closely by DB, specifically CB.

Hope your right i would love to see that. And agreed on the specials teams but i give a tiny tiny edge to Ron Brooks just bc he brought the wood. Hope your right and i want to see us have solid LB play.. Maybe have CJ as a rover type either at OLB or at S not playn nickle corner

It's LB, and it will be LB until we get five that I'm confident can play at any time. It's been LB since Bradie James was drafted by the Cowboys.

Diff lb, yea Minter was a nice catch but we have been lacking big time lbs for some time now. Love Mingos potential but he is just that, potential.

Losing JJ to TN makes CB a top priority especially if Claiborne plays WR. Most of the CB’s will be juniors and seniors. We need at least three top notch CB’s in this class. I haven’t seen many top ranked corners mention us so far. If we loose out on the Bryce Brown lotto then we need three RB in this class.

We don't need a lot of LB's just one or two Star LB's.

we shouldn't limit ourselves to just 1 and 2 star linebackers though. I wouldn't mind seeing us pull in a 4 or 5 every now and then. Generally i prefer the lower star players also, they seem to play harder (Hester would have been great at LB)

RB - Need to have one in next year's class and another one to make up for the one we lost in this year's class. Moreover, two very good ones will be graduating/moving to the NFL. Throw in the fact that we have signed one true RB in the last three years (Allen is a FB and Ridley was recruited as an ATH) and we need a couple of damn strong RBs next year. Yes, I know Michael Ford is a stud. We need more.

WR - Need one in next year's class and more to make up for the two we lost on signing day. Also, LaFell will be moving on and Toliver will be a senior (if he stays). Dammit, if Bama can sign four 4-star WRs in the year after they sign Julio, then we can sign three studs the year after Randle...provided we get the OK from Papa. lol

CB - Need two or three good ones. Its good to have a couple in every class but we need another one to make up for the one (the one we're not supposed to talk about anymore) we lost on signing day. Basically we signed Morris Claiborne this year and while I'm a fan of his...gotta have more. Also, Peterson could jump to the NFL after his junior year and it would be nice to have a new crop of high-power recruits spend a year watching and learning from him. Plus, when 2010 class starts playing Hawkins will be gone and Eugene will be a senior.

I really have high hopes for baker. If he pans out I think we have a relatively strong group to join him. You are right though, we normally have weak linebackers, and we will till we have a strong enough tradition to consistently pull Minters out of state.
