Yea, because Saban only got LaRon Landry, Corey Webster, Travis Daniels, Randall Gay, Ryan Clark and Roman Harper to the NFL as DBs.
Miles has Criag Steltz, Chevis Jackson, Patrick Peterson and Chad Jones.
As you can see, Miles is miles ahead of Saban in getting DBs to the next level.
You're right...Collins is the big loser.

What would be interesting is to see Bama not win one National Championship with him there. Of course, there is no guaranty about LSU, either.

There's absolutely nothing Collins would get at Alabama that he couldn't get at LSU.
And he could get a much better looking gf...at either place really.

Miles doesn't coach DB's

The biggest loser is his family. Much easier for them to see him play and be around him.
But the advantages for his family if he sticks around and are a player for LSU are countless. Now they don't get to reap those benefits and neither does he if he decides to move back to Louisiana since he just burned all his bridges on a national stage. Don't underestimate this part on the situation.

I disagree. I don't think he wanted LSU to look bad at all. He said it was a hard decision and they were both great programs. I think he didn't let anyone know for two years because he didn't want to take shite from idiot fans locally for the last two years. Let the kid go where he wants. The meltdown over this one kid just proves he made the right choice in keeping it to himself for the last two years.

then he wouldn't have done it on National Television.

Never coached Harper. Miles coached Landry and Daniels just as long as Saban did.

I agree that Landon is the biggest loser in this deal. I like him as a player, he's probably a good dude, but I'm afraid he'll be regretting this decision. But, like I've been saying, not a huge loss. Not a position of need, and we clearly can develop safeties well at LSU.

I agree.
He will get piss poor DB coaching from Nick Saban
Who said that?

I knew I'd get that, but what evidence is there that Saban is a good position coach?
He's put at least one defensive back on the All-American team every year since 2008.

Now, I am not saying he isnt a good coach, but Coop is right there with him.
Cooper is a superior corner coach.

I am not 100% sold that Chief would see him as a Safety in his packages. If he beefs up at all, he may be a LB in the Chavis mold. I am not privvy to ANY info, but I could see that as an issue that would make LSU not a real good fit for LSU. Just speculating.

but Saban has this perceived notion about that he is unbelievable DB coach
Ryan Clark
Randall Gay
Corey Webster
Laron Landry
Travis Daniels

Landry was a freak since the first day he stepped on campus. Ryan Clark wasn't recruited by Saban and was a beast before Saban got there. Harper never played under Saban at all.
How about Mo, Mathieu, Reid, Simon- who are all potential 1st round picks

Drop Roman Harper and add Javier Arenas.
Arenas is Sabans most impressive coaching job imo since he's been at Bama. He took an undersized, unrecruited, return specialist and made him a stud starting cb on an undefeated national championship team, and he's picking off balls in the NFL right now.
Saban can coach the hell out of DB's.
So can Coach Cooper.

No, most tigers fans aren't. Most are focusing on the teams we have and the players we are going after rather than dwelling on the few that we missed out on. Those are called idiots, not fans.

let's move on past this kid.

Arenas was a great college player, but in the pros he's just a solid contributor on defense, not the playmaker he was at Bama. You're also forgetting Kareem Jackson who has been inconsistent the whole time and the Texans even considered cutting him since nobody wanted to trade for him.
Saban coaches players to fit his zone blitzing schemes. Doesn't do as good of a job at coaching man to man coverage.
