I'd take Lewis over King.I could care less about the NC connection. We are going hard for the LB Anthony from there,Pagan the DE and Williams the QB.I still think we are taking at least 4 recievers. We've offered too many to just take the 3 in state kids. Why offer if you have no intention of taking any of them?Sylve should be and I think is the #1 option at wr other than Landry.

Someone on a Hog board mentioned he was a Hog fan and not an LSU fan...Has plans to camp at Arky

I'm sure he'll suck now

well he did say in a recent article that he (Fitte) grew up an Arkansas fan but he's certainly not necessarily going there.

I think if we put the press on him then we can sign him, especially with Sylvie likely getting on board very soon.

You mean an offer early? Others think that is a mistake, which usually means you can come in last minute and pick up an in-state kid.

I'm curious what another SEC offer will do, but I doubt he gets one till after camp since he is a little short...unless he plays the hybrid similar to another LA kid...Jericho Nelson...

Jericho is a much different player (at least as a recruit....not sure how he is doing now; I know he has played a good bit for Arky) than Fitte. Nelson had a lot better pass coverage skills. Fitte is an ideal 3-4 Rush OLB at the high school level...I just don't know how he will translate at the next level.

Jericho is nasty on the field and is always in the right position. Not really sold on the smaller LB's with defensive struggles we have. Fitte would have to be something special at his size

Is Nelson playing OLB or SS for the Hogs?

Personally I think it's mistake to offer Fitte this early with guys like Randle and Wallace in Texas and they are NOT committed to Texas. No offense to Fitte, just want the best of the best if we can get them.

Fitte is an intriguing prospect because of his reported size, speed and athleticism.

Rivals lists him at 6'1", 210 lbs. Scout lists him at 5'11", 192 lbs. Does anyone know which is more accurate?

As a junior, Fitte has impressive track and field accomplishments.

Louisiana State High School Track and Field Meet
Named Outstanding Performer
1st place - 110 meter hurdles 14.55
1st place - 300 meter hurdles 39.48
1st place - 400 meter relay 41.77 (record) (Sylve also on relay team)
2nd place - Triple Jump 44-8

LSU Tiger Relays
2nd Place - 110 meter hurdles 15.78 (prelim) and 15.99 (final - against wind)
1st Place - 300 meter hurdles 39.51 (meet record)

According to Scout, he posted a 4.64 laser time at the Scout Combine.

He should only get bigger and faster in his senior year. During a redshirt year, he could put on enough weight to play outside linebacker and be a real threat coming off the edge. With his speed and athleticism, he could contribute early on special teams.

Track guys are not always good football players. But, he made first team all-state as a junior in Class 1A.

Has anyone actually seen him play? How is the competition he plays against? He seems like a good pass rusher. Is he effective against the run?

Seen him play several times. Seemed like a man amongst boys as a freshman. The competition in 1a was horrific most of the time but South Plaquemines usually plays several 4A and 5a schools in the pre-district. Extremely atheletic and drew lots of praise as a freshman in the 2007 1a state championship. Will be interesting to see him play in a system that does not consist of rushing the QB on every play. Has played some receiver this past season and was moderately sucessful. My guess on size is closer to 6 ft and 210. Pretty sure he has been first team All State since his freshman season. It will also be interesting to see him play without Seth Ancar on the same defense. Ancar does not have near the measurables as Fitte, but he is a pure animal. Ancar was always in on every tackle. Just watching SP play and it would seem that Ancar was the bigger recruit. Ancar's graduation will probably allow Fitte to make even more plays as a senior.

Thanks for the info. Seth Ancar put up incredible stats at South Plaquemines. I look forward to seeing Beau Fitte's progression as a senior.

Any chance Beau falls to La Tech? His big brother, Lyle plays for Tech... as does Ancar.
