Kendall Smith in October is the only one I am aware of. I'm sure Deng Deng will
visit before the signing period.

Will Jim Calhoun's retirement help LSU with Kendall Smith's recruitment

UConn hasn't offered and I'm not sure LSU has, either.

I have long doubted Arizona's true interest in Bridgewater. After they got a commitment today from 5-star small forward Rondae Jefferson, I doubt it even more.

What is LSU's interest in him? Is he a back burner type with Mickey and Martin on the board or would LSU take him today if he wanted to commit?

I think LSU would take him today. I don't know that for a fact.

What is the word with Jordan Mickey? How close is he to making a decision? -- Jason, Dallas (via email)
I actually had a chance to watch the 6-foot-8 senior forward at Dallas (Texas) Prime Prep work out earlier this week. A four-star prospect who ranks No. 38 in the class of 2013, Mickey completed an official visit to LSU over the weekend. This weekend, Mickey told me that he will be taking an official visit to nearby SMU. Also left standing on Mickey's list are Arkansas, Ohio State and Oklahoma State, but the feeling is SMU and LSU have moved ahead of the pack and are dueling for his services. Home visits will be done pretty soon and with Mickey taking his visit this weekend -- and no other official visits planned yet -- a decision could be coming sooner than later.

Yeah, I just read that. Also, on the LSU 247 website, there is some board chatter that Mickey's brother, LSU receiver James Wright, was hinting at practice that Mickey would be coming to LSU.

Some of the best news to hear!

Man I hope it's true about Mickey. I want to be a relevant team in basketball so bad and in basketball one big recruiting class can completely turn around a program.

Will Mickey be the 1st Domino to fall for LSU Hopefully we are still recruiting a Big

I would classify Mickey, Deng and Odoh all as bigs. What are you referring to? Not a lot of true bigs in college basketball.

I'm thinking a rebounder to go with this class like Bridgewater

Odoh led junior colleges in rebounds.
LSU is still recruiting Martin, who is between 6-8 and 6-10, depending on what you read. Is also recruiting Bridgewater and several other forward/post type players.
I expect a 6-man class with 4 forwards/posts, 1 point guard and 1 wing.
So, if Mickey commits, I would expect Martin or someone else that may be on the backburner, such as Zach Coleman.

Are we still recruiting Tyrek Coger?

Odoh, Deng, Martin, Mickey would make me draw wood especially if O'Bryant decided to stick around for his jr. year.

No. He was a Trent recruit. I wouldn't mind it. He's a true, back to the basket post player.

I always doubted the prospect of a 6 man class. I felt pessimistic about Odoh panning out, and Deng^2 came out of right field. With things going well for Mickey, I am seeing the light on a 6 man class now.

coleman could definitely be a darkhorse for this class depending on how things work out elsewhere.

Idk if it's the same Coleman, but a Zach Coleman just committed to UMASS.
