Daaang!!
Lots of people confident we land both Mickey and Martin. I am too, but I might have to be a contrarian on ths one.

Odoh, Bridgewater, deng, Martin, and Mickey.

I think having Mickey's brother on campus helps a ton. Plus he will commit early. Martin will be harder to land but I think CJJ can convince Martin and Mickey they can play together. We could also be selling Mickey that he will play the 3, which he wants to do apparently.

Need 6 picks and a Rivals ranking.
Posted on 9/10/12 at 2:37 pm to Bubba Hotep
1. Deng Deng
2. John Odoh
3. D.J. Bowles
4. Jarell Martin
5. Jordan Mickey
6. Shirmane Thomas
Rivals rank of 14.
If I could list "Australian to be named later" I would. I have heard some things.

Bubba will the Austalians we attract be guys that are stashed by Patrick at JUCOs or will there also be guys who come straight to LSU from HS? I am unsure on how difficult it is for these guys to qualify, seems to have worked out alright for other schools like NSU but they are in a different conference with potentially different rules for players to be eligible.

Depends on the players, obviously. I think most of St. Mary's players have come straight from Australia. Some of the ones at JUCO were put there prior to Patrick coming to LSU. Also, some of them are not LSU level players.
One point I would like to make is that, Patrick placing players in JUCO is in no way unethical, or wrong. It is sometimes hard for foreign players to get to a school in another country. He knows many players and coaches from working camps, etc. They call him and he calls a coach to place them somewhere (or recruits them if they are good enough). Most of them are lower level players, but he builds up a lot of goodwill so that when a really good one comes through, he is able to get him.

Nothing concrete or I would name him.

@ebosshoops: Jordan Mickey confirmed that he visited #LSU over the weekend. Will visit #SMU this weekend.

Am I offbase in being worried about SMU with Larry Brown there?

I think Ohio State is the big competition. But that is just my opinion.

Don't think so. He is a smart man plus they are kinda close to home, so I can see things that would tempt Mickey to SMU.

But they are going to get slaughtered in the Big East.
The only consistent winner on his list is Ohio State. That's why I'm worried about them.

He's a lot of things, but a proven recruiter is not one of them. I think distance is the only thing he has going for him.
