Mickey said he is going to decide before September is over.
I don't think he is coming to Arkansas though, I think we finish with Moses Kingsley to add with Portis.

Mickey's father tells Scout.com that they have visited all of their finalists - Ohio State, Oklahoma State, SMU, LSU and Arkansas - unofficially. They have no plans to take any official visits before making their decision by the end of September. They are currently setting up in-home visits with their finalists.
Hopefully the brotherly love will be strong and he will sign with LSU.

More on Mickey:

“LSU will in a rebuilding process. You got Johnny Jones there who did a wonderful job at North Texas State. He’s looking forward to big things at LSU. He was there earlier in his carer with Dale Brown. We had a couple visits down there and they went really, really well. With his coaching style, Jordan will fit into a more running style of offense. I think coach can really utilize his talents. His older brother also plays football at LSU, so that’s another big perk to have the opportunity to go to school with his brother.

I feel good about Mickey. Between us and Ohio State it seems like.

Also, regarding Brian Bridgewater dropping out of the rankings. Despite all the stories you see about him listing Arizona as his leader, it is my understanding that he does not have a commitable offer right now to Arizona. He is a backburner recruit and a backup plan for them. They are recruiting several 5 and 4 star players.
If Bridgewater can prove this season that he can be a 3 at the high-major level, that could all change.

I am going to have a 2013 recruiting class prediction contest, with the following rules:
1. You must make your prediciton, in this thread, by September 10.
2. The contest will end at the end of the spring signing period. Any signees after that will not count for this competition.
3. Maximum of 5 signees may be predicted.
4. Highest percentage of actual signees wins.
5. Tiebreaker: Predict where the class will rank in Rivals' final class rankings.
6. Winner will have the 2014 thread named after them: (ex. the Cowboy4ever 2014 Basketball Recruiting thread)

Sounds good but I'll wait until the 10th to make a prediction.

Just to recap, in the last week or so LSU has made the final list for:
Karviar Shepherd
Kansas, Texas, TCU, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, SMU, Marquette and LSU.
Jordan Mickey
Ohio State, LSU, SMU, Oklahoma State and Arkansas
Jarell Martin
LSU, Alabama, Louisville, Oklahoma State, St. John's, Texas A&M and UCLA.
These are all top 50 players. I am certain we will make the final list for Damian Jones, regardless of what is being said. That would be 4 top 100 players.

Bubba, I'm hoping we bring in all four of Shepherd, Mickey, Martin and Jones. But not sure if they'd all want to be in the same class as they'll all want to start/play significant minutes. But LSU could use the low post depth. How realistic you think it is we could persuade all four to sign? I'm guessing not too good, though would love to be wrong.

Also made the top 5 for Kendall Harris. Coach Jones and staff is putting in work

For about 24 hours. That may have been the shortest-lived final list of all time.

I think it will be hard to sign more than two of that group, but who knows? I would be happy with any combination of two. I definitely think they will sign 3 or 4 post players. The 3rd and 4th ones may not be as highly ranked, as the top 2.

Could someone in the know tell me the difference between official and unofficial visits? For instance, who pays for travel, lodging, etc. Would assume unofficial get no reimbursement which makes them highly suspect in my opinion when they travel from relatively far away places. Like California, Canada or the east coast for us. Do you just get one official vist?
Posted on 8/29/12 at 3:20 pm to Tom Bronco
You get 5 official visits (one per school) all expenses paid for you and a parent/chaperone.
You have unlimited unofficial vists, but you must pay for them all yourself. The school cannot give you anything, not even a meal.
You are right, these are highly suspect and are a major point of contention right now. These are the exact reason that Shabazz Muhammed and Nerlens Noel are not yet eligible at UCLA and UK. There are questions as to who paid for their unofficial visits.
Many of them occur during AAU tournaments when they are already in the area. These are understandable, but the others are very sketchy.

I have my entry ready but think you are not being fair in the percentage thing. If you only pick two of the most likely, don't you have a better shot then if you pick all five. Hey it's your contest so do what you want and it is still cool and I will enter. As to tie breaker, if I pick five and get all of them but someone else goes with two and gets them, shouldn't my greater number of picks be tie breaker?

Highest percentage of actual signees:
If LSU signs 5, and you get 3 of them right, that's 60 percent. Get them all that's 100 percent.
Doesn't matter how many you pick. I'm not judging the percentage you selected.
If you pick 2 and they sign 5. It doesn't matter that they signed both of your picks, that's still on a 40 percent score.
