is that sarcasm? i've never seen a running back be able to come out of the backfield straight up the middle without having to worry about anything else except beating his man. The RB definately has the upperhand in that drill, imho the LB's are doing good just to be in decent position.

Mingo has 0 cover skills.

Im pretty sure mingo's arms almost touch the ground.

It's a good thing I always have my flamesuit on when I venture over to this board.

Mingo looked the best out of everyone. He needs some work on his covering skills, but that can only be expected with a guy that has only played football for two years.
He showed some real nice wheels and pretty good coverage for a LB. I doubt that there will be many situations where he is asked to cover a guy going deep man on man.
You're fricking retarded.
ETA: before anyone says anything about the INT, that was a Brandon Lafell style toss to the defender, complete luck.

QB will never have that long to throw and the LB's will have help on the deep routes, but that was kind of an arse whoopin put on by the RB's
ETA: And Barrow seems to have good recovery speed which was a little shocking

Mingo has only played football for two years and his only job was to rush the qb. Let the kid develop.

I agree. That's why we have redshirts. He'll redshirt and bulk up as well as improve his skills. Mingo will be fine. He has that natural speed that you cannot coach.
ETA: If Mingo does indeed play LB at the next level for LSU, he'll have one of the best LB coaches in the nation to coach him up.

That drill heavily favors the Running back. I only saw one or two times where the LB actually succeeded.

Mingo will be playing DE in college anyway. book it.

pretty much every running back owned every linebacker in that drill. the only times when they didn't pass interferance would have been called.

Do you read recruting info? This is no surprise that both of these guys lack weight to play in the SEC. WE know they are skinny and that they are projects and very raw talent. They will both likly redshirt and may not see the field for 3yrs. That should be plenty of time to put on weight and be coached up on their playing skills. NO ONE is expecting these guys to come right in and start.
Both players are athletic and can be coached up that's the upside to both of them.

This is the dummest thread i have ever witnessed once the reciever gets deep he is safetyt responsibility not the linebacker just more proof that message board people dont make coaches are players.

I thought Barrow actually looked pretty good in most of those drills.
