Gilbert is Bama. Feeling Washington is Georgia. Not sure why with the way we been passing to TE.

Those schools have been on them longer. I do agree that UGA does not use TEs very effectively.

Got in the game too late. Next year TEs would be the better targets

Caleb Williams can really sling it, and Washington can catch the ball and run people the hell over.

Like yourself, I would like to see LSU go after each of these kids hard. I believe they are pressing for Williams, but it doesn't seem like they are going after Washington as hard.

I think we have chance with both kids, and our chances might get better with each win we get, showcasing a passing offense more advanced and better than anyone elses in the college game.

And to counter it’s all because of Burrow, ensure him the cupboard is not bare:

-lock up Brady
-we have MS all-time leading passer
-AL 6A State Champ (winner over Bama’s QB commit)
-a Super Bowl winning QB’s son
-a physical freak with a ton of upside that can throw for a mile

Arik Gilbert committing (#1 TE - #10 overall per 247)

With this offense I like Kole Taylor a whole lot more. Taylor is faster, has better agility in the open field and has better hands. He is a TE/WR hybrid like those in the NFL. May need a year or 2 to get stronger, but he is more athletic than Gilbert right now. In the old offense where TE's block a lot, I'd go with Gilbert, but with this offense where TE's rarely block, I like Kole much better. If LSU is only taking one of the 2, that's who I'd rather have.

5-star Arik Gilbert is set to make his college commitment this afternoon, and #LSU will have a hat on the table.

Here's what the @247Sports analysts from each team had to say about his upcoming decision. LINK LINK

Gilbert looks to be the better prospect, but I doubt the gap between him and Taylor is that big.

LSU tight ends coach John Decoster has been instrumental in the recruitment of Gilbert.

Say who??? Shadow staff coach? Not listed on LSU official football staff: LINK

But his Twitter account says LSU TE Coach. LINK

Strange.

I'm pretty sure he is a graduate assistant. He's also an offensive line coach, so he is most likely the TE coach for the run game. I think it is his 3rd yr which I think you can only do if you completed like 24 hours of graduate work in the previous two.

He'll commit to Bama.

That said, I don't think he'll be unflippable. (Once we take care of business vs Auburn) I still think A LOT of the top recruits left on the board who like LSU are wanting to see the results on 11/9.
