If the coaches and his teammates are okay with his returning under whatever conditions they deem appropriate, I'm okay with it. If the coaches and his teammates choose not to let him back for whatever reasons they deem appropriate, I'm okay with it.

I defended him too. We had a really down year and I kinda expected to see some kids transfer. Hopefully with a normal off-season we can get Arik back and have another spectacular year. In order for us to get on bama's level we need to have back to back to back 1 or 2 ranked recruiting classes, great coordinators that want to stay. That is how Saban has built his dynasty. Getting Arik back is a step in that direction.

I keep seeing people talk about how he quit on his team. Last year it was the cool thing to do. Opting out was all the rage. So I can give the kid a pass on that. Dudes were quitting left and right all over the country.
Last season was a joke that nobody will remember. LSU is doing a hard reset this offseason. Maybe Gilbert just needed some time to reset himself. Perhaps he saw the grass wasn't any greener in Florida. You can't run from a problem if the problem is you. Wherever you go, there you are.

If he comes back great, the kid is talented. If he doesn’t we have a 6’7” weapon ready to shine too. If I was him I would figure out my priorities and focus on that. If football is one of them then pick a school, enroll, get in shape to compete, then delete social media.
