They aren’t my guys. I thought it was important to hire a coach with recent college experience. A lot of nfl concepts are not applicable to college & nothing Linehan does really fits with that
Brady’s time under joe Moorhead proved to be his biggest strength last year

This is conjecture here but it also seems like it could be a mail-it-in type role. Not a bad paycheck to hang out and monetize your resume with seemingly minimal asked of you. Also keeps the gap in his resume from getting too large if he ever does want to get back into it. Also in general just way less exciting of a feeling that last Spring when we thought we were onto something great. Not a big Ensminger guy but if he were going to stay, he could at least be a stabilizing force to continue what we did last year while bringing in another young, innovative guy from a top offensive organization. Oh well, hope I'm wrong.

My post was in no way intended to serve as a criticism of O, of the recruiting classes we have recently had, or even of the staff. I broke it down how I saw it from my viewpoint, but will be happy to be shown why my assessment is incorrect.

But the point of the thread is to get your reasoning of why you aren't concerned, when nearly half of the staff or more are either unproven with no reason to believe they will be good, or have proven to not be that great at it.
Something doesn't add up.

Robinson - Came to LSU with a lot of recruiting accolades, but has seemed to just be meh to solid; but not many, if any, splash signings. Am I mistaken or did he get Emery Last year?
That was Ed and Mickey. You guys need to let go of it’s up to the position coach to recruit his position. They are important, but most times it’s the area recruiter that the families interact with the most.

If analyst turnover is a concern, then perhaps we should get rid of them.
The whole concept of the position is to have a lot of turnover. It’s a stepping stone job.
There has been massive analyst turnover every year since LSU first started using analysts.
Lumping analysts in with regular coaches is silly, and just looking for something negative.

What kind of stupid shite is this?
This isn’t me being negative. Just explaining reality
There are a lot of things that have to happen to get everyone on the same page.
The coordinators giving direction have changed. That’s an adjustment. Most of analysts have changed too. Everyone has to learn to work with one another. Spring practice starts in a few weeks.
There’s a new QB & 16 players from 2019 will be at the combine. You’re replacing a ton of players.
Sorry but it’s not a normal offseason. There’s a ton of moving parts. Playing into late January pushes everything back as well.

there is always a need to balance a coaching staff's ability to coach and their ability to recruit
This. It’s tough to balance the on the field coaching results with recruiting but I’d say we’ve been doing a decent job of that. I do think LSU could use one or two more ace recruiters, particularly for the DL and QB positions. I think LSU is pretty good in the other areas. I think OL recruiting could be better but I’m also seeing improvements there and huge improvements on the field so I like where we are but yes I believe we could use one or two more ace recruiters on the staff.
I’ll say this also, if LSU does happen to land at least one more guy like a Orgeron or a Bill Busch for the DL or QB position, we will be one dangerous freakn school to contend with. We currently are but if we can find that guy who strikes a balance and we start nailing down those 5* DTs/DEs/QBs and OL with regularity and they start to build some real hype at those positions, look the frick out. Of course we all know this and it’s fairly obvious that if we do it’s game over.
I do however believe in talent evaluation and having staff members who can spot talent at positions of need who are 4* guys but fit your program is just as if not more effective. If you look at this class and look at what we could end up with in 2021, this is going to be a championship team or playoff team going into future. LSU is loaded with talent everywhere. The SEC fans who actually believe that we are going to just fall off the map this year are kidding themselves.
Myles B is going to be a solid QB and possibly much more than solid. He simply needs to take the reigns, lead, have fun playing, be tough, work the pocket calmly and elevate those players around him with his play. I think he can do these things at a high level. Anyway here’s to 2020 and beyond!!! GT
