I disagree with this statement. The teams Bussey played were very good. Beckville, Daingerfield, Garrison, Jefferson all were better than a lot of teams Johnson played. He had to beat Garrison twice and Beckville the second time around (he missed the 1st game recovering from knee surgery). Daingerfield made it to the final 4 of 3AD2 in Texas. I think you are discounting the competition Bussey played against.

Bussey I Do think has way less character concerns

Crazy this is a thing because a few redneck old men made some comments on Twitter

Was my argument on another post. They are extremely similar in size, speed, and most people project them both to safety or cb. Both played Qb and were extremely productive but JU’ Juan did it against much much tougher competition. B

this is correct as i know both of them.

Those are 2A teams enrollment wise in Louisiana. None of those compare to 5A champion Ruston, 4A champion St. Thomas Moore x2, Acadiana, Teurlings Catholic competition wise. I know it’s Texas football but those teams you listed are 2A equivalents in Louisiana enrollment wise. That team Bussey ran all over in state championship game looked identical to a 1A St Mary’s or Gleenbrook team from Louisiana. He’s a great athlete and seems like an even better kid. But we have to be honest about the competition, none of those are close to a Carthage, Gilmer, Pleasant Grove type team talent wise that LCA was playing routinely in a select 4A district and playoff in south Louisiana. We can’t look at the two and say they are even remotely close. Doesn’t mean Bussey won’t be better but it’s not a given like some suggest.

Aside from Ruston, I would take Daingerfield, Beckville, Garrison, and Timpson against any of those teams.

LCA beats a healthy Timpson with all their players that got hurt by 50 tomorrow at 7am at their own field. You’re delusional if you think otherwise. You think Timpson could beat 2A Calvary out of Shreveport? Timpson is way more Kentwood Trey Palmer ish than they are anything remotely close to LCA or STM. They are a great small school football team with 2 or 3 d1 dynamic athletes but let’s not get carried away. There’s not a team in Louisiana that can hang with Desoto, Ducanville, South Lake Carroll but that’s not what this is, there’s a big gap here.

I saw Calvary play 3 times this year. The Byrd game, the Parkview Baptist game & the Newman game. Timpson would beat Calvary by 2 scores. Daingerfield would beat Calvary.

Bussey is way faster than Johnson and probably just slightly more dynamic
Both are great players
