Dude didn't recruit much when he was here. How much different can it be when he's at Baylor?

If he’s a good head coach, he’ll realize his weaknesses with people and communication. He needs to hire top notch recruiters to be successful.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a recruit release a top 5 that contained Baylor and LSU. You see LSU with Georgia, Bama, Clemson, Oklahoma, Florida, Texas.

You see Baylor with TCU, SMU, Arizona State, Nebraska, Kansas State, ole miss.

Would Coach O still get top 5 classes at Baylor?

Hell no.

Would Aranda get get top 5 classes at LSU?

Yes.

If you had to choose who wins a living room battle for Momma, I would take O over A every time.

i am not sure he is head coach material. his weaknesses were compensated at lsu (motivation, recruiting, facilities) if he surrounds himself with great assistant coaches, maybe. imo, he is an nfl D coordinator. i think he fits that mold. and, just my opinion, i kinda think lsu didnt really fight too hard to keep him. there were defensive lapses during the year (ole miss) that disappointed. in fairness, i am not sure it was aranda's fault, the game is changing to more offense production across the board. but, a response is the defense killed after ole miss against super offenses.

If anything Coach O can send the LSU passes towards Aranda to undermine Fisher and Herman. Maybe camps w/Baylor and LSU in Texas.

Until they bust out the chess board and Coach Aranda does the Jedi mind trick. All bets are off at that point.

Aranda is a great coach but not exactly a stud recruiter. Add in Baylor being viewed as 2nd tier behind Texas and A&M historically, not sure it moves the needle much in recruiting. Maybe that changes if he hires some great recruiters and/or wins big.

I LOVEEEE ARANDA as a Coach, i don't see the "Charisma" (sp)
But I wanted Him to Be LSU's Coach way back when....

I love O now, but felt at the time, Aranda could've been a great hire....

He is going to a conference that if someone came in with "DEFENSE" mentality, they could own that conference, Baylor already has the Offense, THEY as well as ALL BIG 12 Teams have always needed Defense...

Baylor also has the BUCKS$$$$$$$
Aranda will hire recruiters but he's a little dry persona wise

Name the last recruit that was between LSU and Baylor:

I have no clue how serious LSU was with the kid, but I remember a thread about recruiting Gerry Bohanon last year. He chose Baylor.

Here are a few threads

Aranda has never been a great recruiter. Not to mention that he isn't a defensive coordinator anymore cause he is a head coach.
