Anyone know why Underwood is not participating in elite 11?

Seems all other top guys are going to be there, would have been fun to see him compete.

Maybe he feels he has nothing to prove?

I have no idea why he's not doing it, but he doesn't really have anything to prove. He's the #1 QB and has an offer from every school in the country. I would imagine the real benefit he would get is the coaching from different guys at that camp. But if he feels he's getting good coaching currently, I would imagine there's not much to gain besides it being a cool experience.

He's done camps and 7 on 7. Doesn't have to entertain everything.

That’s kind of a bummer. I’m sure he has a legit reason but everyone would still like to see him compete in that setting with the best QB’s in the country.

I don't see why he needs to. Knowing these sites though, they'll drop him in rankings since he's not there which is ridiculous.

Rivals has him as the #3 overall recruit.

24/7 & On3 have him at #1...

Nothing to prove, and the elite 11 isn't what it used to be anyway.

Arch Manning didn't.

I'm not sure why any recruit that's already committed, or is certain of a scholarship at their desired school, would go to these camps.

It's purely performative.

I think the early signing day has made it irrelevant to those going into their senior year. Most of the top guys have committed and are getting reps with trainers at this point. Not much more insight into the player to be received at a skills camp. Make the Elite 11 for those going into their junior year.

This would be a waste of time for him. Also needlessly putting him at risk for injury. Why take the chance, he’ll be an instant starter at LSU when he gets there. You guys are in for a treat!

Tj Finley looked like a beast at elite 11

It doesn’t translate to actual game

Means nothing

Because he’s in Elite 1 all by himself, he don’t need no stinking competitions

Pride, competitiveness, with NIL possibly appearance fees, social interaction, the coaching they receive, reps to improve, etc. A myriad of reasons. They are teenagers after all. Most of us played sports every day as teenagers purely for enjoyment. I thought we wanted these kids to be treated like any other, less entitled.

Yep, going to an event called “Elite 11” is being just like everyone else, no entitlement.

Most of the training, camps, etc, is to get highly ranked and land a scholarship to the school you want.

Once that is accomplished, what’s the point? These camps are showcases. They are showing what they can do, not learning or improving.
