A small percentage of college players make it to the NFL, and even fewer stick for several years.
You have to reach a ways to define a player as a bust when he makes it to the NFL, especially a guy that NFL teams believe is playing on the wrong side of the ball.
To suggest that LA players that decide to leave the state are more likely to fail as players is also a bit silly. When a player decides to go to a school like Bama, or LSU for that matter, they have to develop as players or get processed.
In my opinion, LSU may have gotten lucky that we did not land the list of players you are discussing...because they just were not as good as projected...not because they decided to leave the state.

I just want to throw this out there since it hasn't been mentioned in this thread(I think).
I know a lot of people thought Reid and Collins aren't that close. In interviews he said he talks to him all the time. When Reid went to his UA jersey ceremony, Collins said Reid is a huge inspiration on how he plays and works in the classroom. He made it sound like family when referencing LSU. His family is very pro LSU too, especially his dad. Why do people ignore this tidbit? Don't you think family has a strong sway on where he goes?
And before anyone mentions the GF bullshite again, she isn't a lock to Bama...just throwing that out there.
Let him have his fun...he is going to LSU.

I'm going to lean towards him not getting a whole lot of playing time.

Ok after looking at that list and remembering the wailing and nashing of teeth that went with all of them I have to wonder
"who cares?"
It seems if you leave you chances of success are minimal and you damage your rep in your home state.
