At DT, I have to believe that if those young pups were special at least 1 or 2 wouldve played seeing as though we struggled for a rotation all year. We have plenty of numbers and I think we will be fine but there is reason to be concerned.

Yeah fanva I agree. If the two starters would've returned we would be okay, but now we will take another step back or at best be what we were last year. That was average.

I keep hearing things about Herron though, about how he has put on good weight. I sure hope so. I won't be comfortable until I see a DT make a starting offensive lineman cry mercy in the big cat. Brockers or Logan style. WE need a push in the middle!

Other than Hicks and Wroten, have we had any JUCO DTs come in in the past decade?

If yo haven't noticed, 300lb DTs are no longer the majority of DL. As teams are spreading out, you need to be faster.
Actually, with our schedule, we need BOTH. Auburn is not as finesse as it seems, they are a power running team as much as Bama, Florida, and Arkansas are.

They didn't see much pt as freshman but that's not too uncommon. Takes time to develop kids fresh out of HS to sec caliber.. Tommy M will have em ready by next fall. LSU has put too many dlineman in the league over the years.. Not too worried

LSU was in the same type of situation after the 2010 season. Lost both Lazarius Levingston (who started 12 games) and Drake Nevis (who started 13 games). The only returner in 2011 who saw significant time in 2010 was Brockers. Downs was the only other one to play somewhat meaningful minutes. LSU recruits DTs and DBs better than any other school in the nation.
