i am just dissapointed because if we lose him it will hurt us on numerous levels...LSU should not lose a player like this to another SEC team period. I don't care what any of you say. We are the home school and a powerhouse. how is possible that we lose a LA boy to f.... Bama and Saban? we should be able to sell ourselves better than that.

Unfortunately, I believe this thread is a great example of just how immature and ridiculous our fans can be. This kid is deciding for his OWN future, not yours. All of you saying most of the things you are saying really need to look in the mirror.
I will be extremely disappointed if he doesn't go to LSU. But, if he decides that it is better for him to go elsewhere, whether that be Bama, Miami, OU, or some random school, then it's his choice and he's making that choice because he sees it as being in his best interest.
The comments of hate and disgust that Louisiana people will have are truly sad. The comments from some of you saying he should choose now if he doesn't like the process, or since he hasn't chosen already, it won't be LSU....well again, those are all ridiculous statements. He's making a decision for the rest of his life. Respect that...it's his decision to make.

Ok people here are some absolutely absurd ideas that I propose:
1) Relax
2) Compliment and congratulate Reuben and his family on the way they have handled the recruiting process by not making a circus out of everything
3) Wait for RR to make a decision and then wish him well at any school that he attends
4) Root for the him since he represents the best of what our state can produce as far as football players and individuals
Just a thought

My post wasn't addressed only to you. But your posts are much like the others. "I feel sorry for the kid, but...."
Seriously, if he doesn't pick us, I don't think it has any long-term implications on the direction of the program. If he does pick us, I will be ecstatic because we'll be getting a difference maker who very much seems to have his head on his shoulders. The fact that he is mature enough to go through this and not cave to the pressures around him, well that tells me something.

Leave the kid alone. If he chooses LSU great, if he goes somewhere else good for him too.
No one knows for sure whether this kid will be great or not. Look at McKnight, went to USC and had one big game, that's all. McKnight is just another player from out of state playing for USC who may or may not play on Sundays. If he doesn't play on Sunday what does he have? The loyalty of the state of California for being a favorite son, I doubt it. A home state in Louisiana that appreciates his efforts after wanting him to represent the flagship university, I doubt it.
This is what the high price coaches get paid to do, and it is what they do best. They sell potential playing time on Saturday and Sunday through them. They don't sell the what happens if you don't make it category. They don't sell, you can establish roots in the state just like it was your own 5 years from now. We will bestow the customs and traditions on your family that has taken the last 100 years for you to develop in your home state. Because they know it is not the same. That is why the coaches get paid and the recruits don't.
The best thing Randle could do is talk with recruits who have left the state, and if they didn't play on Sunday is it easier for them now living in that state. As opposed to playing for the flagship home University and living in the state. Some I am sure it worked for, but for the vast majority I would guess it did not.
Leave the kid alone and good luck to him. He is just a kid trying to make a difficult decision. The unfortunate part to recruiting is they go into universities as kids and are expected to come out as men. It is as men that we realize the value of tradition.
Nothing sells better Hope!
Good luck Randle no matter what you choose.

I'm looking forward to it being over," Emmett Randle said. "I wish it was over now."

Because he hasn't made a decsion.
Sometimes, the obvious answer is the correct one.

since he is looking to go to Alabama - the longer he holds off the hatred and chaos people from Louisiana will give him for leaving....the less time he will have to listen to it.
If it was me, this is what I'd would do .

TIFWIW but Bama may very well be running #3 in this case behind OU!
Randle stays home IMO. 2 Weeks from now he will be committed I think.

You don't know what his reasons are. Respect the kid and let him make it on his time frame, when he knows what he wants to do. I think that the one thing it cleary implies is that he is not 100% sure where he wants to go. Would you rather him committ and change his decision, or make the right one in the first place? So all of you really want him to make a decision to satisfy your own needs. Wonderful.

if he isnt, why doesnt he end the recruiting phase and get tons of admiration as the hometown hero now? because he isnt staying at home

Because he wants to make the right decision, just because he hasnt committed yet doesnt mean anything

I agree that we need to be grown ups and not repeat our pitiful attitudes when McKnight left. That was sad.
But, as far as Randle goes, I have ceded him to Bama for the stated reasons. If he were coming to LSU, he would have done so, I think. I wish him well and hope he has a good life there, but he will join our most hated rival (because of Saban). There is no way to be happy about it.
Saban spins a convinving web of deceit. He tells players that he can develop them, put them into the NFL, and make them better men. Yet, he is not committed to his own players. He's graduating 9 and wants to sign almost 30. What does that tell you about his committment?
But, players believe him. I hope Randle comes to LSU, but I'm not counting on it, unfortunately.

What gets me is that Bama is selling the opportunity to "take pressure" off of JJ. That SHOULD push RR to LSU. RR is a first option WR and should be looking at which school has the WR stock to take pressure off of HIM! Also...someone needs to post those 5 year run/pass stats for LSU/Bama on a daily basis! That coupled with our QB situation vs. Bama's...I don't understand why is isn't already on board. We really shouldn't even be competing with Bama for RR. I chalk that up to the method that Saban uses to recruit and his ability to get into a recruits head!
