How are they looking?

I heard West Monroe has looked average. I actually have some film given to me from West Monroe spring training. They will be down. Neville has a good chance to win this year if they have any weapons to go along with Max.

Ouachita supposedly is loaded, but has little depth.

Well you know Neville is regressing.. Nothing in the cupboard anymore. They will never get back to their glory days...Coach McCarty and other coaches will do their best to compete this year. Hopefully they will win a few games. Isn't that what some are saying on here?

It was just a matter of time after Shows passed away. Arledge is old and seems to be on cruise control and the WM money folks are gonna need to do a major search to find the right man for the job after Arledge retires.

Who said that?

I think most thought they would regress a little after that class graduated a couple years ago, but not be down for good.

Offensive line should be stout and with some weapons could be scary as frick. Defense is where I could see them being down.

They already have Osborne panned out to be the heir apparent.

Was told by HIGH YPS within the program.

Some other fans were speaking aloud about going after the Zachary Head Coach Brewerton and offering him the house. These higher ups scoffed and said Osborne was the man and would get the job.

Politics takes over all programs; too many vested interests involved to risk losing it to an outsider who could change the entire look of the program.

Oh, kind of like how Shows did when he got there before anyone gave a damn.

The QB they have taking over is 10x the passer that Slade was. Defensively they have some key returning players. They will be fine.

Not really.

Just telling you what I heard straight from sources associated high up in West Monroe football. Could they be wrong in the long run? Sure, but as of today Osborne is their man.

Speaking about vested interests is true. Before Shows showed up there weren't many vested interests in WM football. Now that he built that program into a money maker and powerhouse the fear of losing whatever hold attached to the program will obviously strangle any attempt at getting a solid outsider.

Happens to almost every powerhouse in any setting in human history. Human nature. But I'm sure you will disagree with all that and claim the 1% anomaly to WM case I'm sure.

Isnt Osbourne married to the daughter of someone important in WM? Politics is exactly why WM sucked in football pre-1989 /Shows. I was a student there and saw it first hand from 87-90.

No... They didn't... That kid was a cancer inside that program, and everyone that was anyone knew it. As far as how they will be this Fall, the defense will be as good as ever, and the offense will be able to throw it well. The offensive line is young, but have great size and ability. Most of the kids got plenty of playing time last year, and will settle in nicely once they get some games under their belt. Definitely could be a slow start. I'm longtime friends with several of their coaches, and they feel this year will be their last shot at a title for a few years atleast, as they lose quite a bit going forward.

So having a kid and his dad walk into the HC office and demand that he be the starting QB and not moved to an all purpose WR/RB roll or he would leave to go to IMG is a healthy relationship to have inside the program?

Why didn't they tell him to take a hike?

If you have a cancer, you get it out. Sounds like a leadership problem at the top.

He was still the best athlete they had. Even with all the extra baggage.

Well, that helps explain why Max Hunter left to Neville I guess.

Heard Deon McNeal left also: the defensive tackle, to Bastrop.

Yeah, Hunter felt slighted. Sort of a Primma Donna move, but it is what it is.

Because it did not happen. This guy has no idea what he’s talking about. Funny Bolden won almost everyone of the offensive awards at the West Monroe football banquet, including the leadership and integrity award and Max Hunter stated he left West Monroe because he didn’t win an award at the banquet. And then all this crap gets posted here. Things that make you go, “Hmm”.

My man, we are just going to have to agree to disagree. Not something worth arguing over. All I can tell you is, the info I get out of WMHS couldn't be any closer to the source if it tried.
