Teddy Bridgewater will never take a snap as a QB in college.

yeah, I could care less about your "someone is about to commit but I can't say who it is" posts. That's cool that you might have some inside info. I would use it more for good instead of looking for praise. That's actually pretty high school type behavior.
I don't get all this crap. How is that thread asking for praise? Quit jumping on the
It was support not praise. It seemed to Chicken that I might have been trying to infiltrate the system. So i asked for support so he wouldn't feel threatened. If you don't appreciate what i bring so be it. Just get off my lap.

post what you need to post then move along... It's pointless to continually worry what others think of you or hijack threads in what looks to be a need for conflict. This is getting overdone and annoying. Lets keep this board as it was intended and not become the rant

Harris's father is one of Teddy's coaches at Northwestern.
I would love for LSU to get him but expect him to go to The U.
Here's a link to an article on Teddy and other South Florida kids attending a combine this past weekend. there is an audio interview with Teddy there:
quote:
That's why the 6-3, 175-pound junior quarterback from Miami Northwestern -- and the top 2011 recruit in the state of Florida -- wasn't bothered much by the fact he was clocked at 4.88 seconds three times during Sunday's Miami Under Armour Combine.
"To me, the game is what you're evaluated by -- not the numbers," said Bridgewater, who threw for 2,546 yards, 32 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season while rushing for 379 yards and five more scores. "When I run a 40, I just run a 40 to see how I run. When I'm on the field, I'm running to win the game."

A guy from Gore's high school ran a laser timed 4.33 forty (Tacoi Sumler). He's a little guy like Gore:
quote:
The 5-8, 175-pound receiver/cornerback who recently transferred from Gulliver Prep, ran a 4.33 40-yard dash and the L-cone drill in 6.73 seconds, a drill made especially to demonstrate the ability to cut and change direction quickly. Later on in one-on-one drills, he burned several cornerbacks who tried to cover him for easy touchdowns. Already with 12 offers from schools like South Carolina, West Virginia, Florida State, FIU, Tulane, Arkansas, Clemson and Stanford, Sumler, who had over 900 all-purpose yards and scored 20 touchdowns as a junior, is expecting to get offers from Florida and Cal soon. He said he talks to University of Miami coaches often and grew up a UM fan. He said he is waiting to see if the Canes will offer him.

The QBs that have taken LSU all the way are not the million-dollar-arm-and-five-cent-head types: see Jamarcus Russell. Is it coincidence that, e.g., Michael Vick never took the Gobblers to the Promised Land? Those types rarely, if ever, do. Matt Mauck and Matt Flynn were NOT anywhere close to being the best "athletes" on the field, but they were SMART and TOUGH. The next BCS Championship that LSU wins will have Chris Garrett taking the snaps ... then maybe another one with Zack Lee ... and, hopefully, another one with Justin Worley (2011) under Center.

the lack of big name recruits at the position could really start to hurt LSU on and off the field.
Well what has helped us before? Rp and Jamarcus? I know shep helped a lot, but it is not like we have always had an "elite" qb. I may be wrong, but i dont think this class will suck if we dont land teddy.
not bashing you jimmy, but people said us losing 9 games in 2 years was going to kill recruiting and it has not.

We need an Elite QB, a Good QB, or a Managing type QB. Just give us a QB doesn't matter.

I don't see Jefferson leading us to another unless he improves dramatically.
Maybe Garrett can get it done.
Time will tell
Can Barrett Bailey play?

LSU needs a QB. The last two years, lack of a seasoned QB was the primary failing of the team. Perriloux doesn't self destruct and the last two years look totally different. We can argue about what that QB should look like, but with extremely few exceptions, teams starting freshman or redshirt freshman rarely win championships.

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -- Versatile athlete Teddy Bridgewater (Miami, Fla./Northwestern) will be able to contribute in a number of ways to the college program he picks.
The only question is which one and in some cases, which way.
Bridgewater is his high school team's starting quarterback and has potential at that position at the next level. The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder also is as talented as they come as a receiver prospect. That may be his best chance to get on the field early, something he values.
During a recent practice with his loaded 7-on-7 team, the South Florida Express, he played receiver exclusively and showed a great ability to run routes, get open and catch the football. He's also quicker than most give him credit for.
"Once I get to college, I plan on playing quarterback," Bridgewater said. "But if I can play as a true freshman, then I would definitely play receiver. I will do anything I can to help the team win."
There are things Bridgewater, who threw for 2,546 yards and 32 touchdowns last season, admittedly says he needs to work on at quarterback.
"I think I need to improve my straight drop-back game from under center," he said. "I am used to going under center and being in the shotgun, so I am sure it wouldn't be a big adjustment." West Virginia, Florida, Miami, Rutgers and Tennessee all have issued early offers to Bridgewater.
"Right now, I plan on visiting Florida, Alabama, LSU and Florida State this spring," he said. "What's going to be important is how early I get on the field. Also, it's going to be academics and whatever school that has the major I want to study. Right now, I want to study Sports Journalism and be a broadcaster."
