Outside of 4 power 5 schools, he has a ton of mid major offers. Not impressive. Probably pretty telling that he’s been scouted a ton due to being Parishes RB and still barely qualifies to be a 3 Star. Hard pass. I’d rather not even use the scholarship.

Damn, we miss on Emery and soon to be Cain so we have to take Spivey? I’d rather just use the scholarship on someone who’s actually going to be useful.
Are you fricking kidding me? You must not know ANYTHING about recruiting. Some of yall say the dumbest shite I've ever seen. Imagine Spivey being ecstatic that he got this offer and he comes on this board to see how the fans are reacting and he sees your stupid arse post.. I guess in your mind 3 stars should just be kicked to the curb..
Tyrann Mathieu
Morris Claiborne
Jacob Hester
Khalil Mack was a 2 star
JJ Watt wasnt even rated and was a walk on.
Carson Wentz played division 2 college football.
Have a little bit of foresight and show a little class towards a KID.

Tell the truth, did you watch his film against top competition?
Did you watch Noah Cain's film against top competition?
Who do you think looked better? We know Spivey is bigger, so who looked faster? Who looked more elusive?

What championships did we win with Guice and Fournette?
What was Hester and Flynn's star rating.

Doesn't matter. Cain has five stars next to his name and Spivey has 3. That's the end of the conversation.
There's no way NFLU7 is over the age of 18.
Posted on 8/1/18 at 1:22 pm to BayouCowboy
Today was the first day that staffs could send out official written offers. Previous to today, they could only be verbal offers. Spivey was verbally offered earlier, at camp time.
Posted on 8/1/18 at 1:29 pm to Tiger Ree
Come on down Spivey! If Emery wants to dick around with being a cog in a loaded Georgia backfield, well, then that's his arse because he definitely won't be the main RB at Georgia like he wants to be. Spivey is a really good, underrated RB imo, LSU would be happy to have him.

If you watched this kid's tape without knowing his 247 ranking, you'd swear he was a 4 or 5 star.
yeah that's how highlight tapes work....

The kid barely cracked the top 1000 players and is ranked 1380 on 247. He’s the 64th rated running back but keep telling yourselves that he just must be underrated and misevaluated even though his teammate is a top DT QB.

I agree. People ripped inn Etienne like he was chopped liver. Name the last time we ever pulled a big back out of Mississippi like a Cam Akers. So damn frustrating

this board's love/hate relationship with stars is always enjoyable....
"YES WE GOT THE #1 WR IN THE COUNTRY!!!!"
"you know stars are so meaningless, I watched this guy's tape (you mean highlight reel) and he is a legit 4 star AT LEAST" or "ehh give me the 3 star kid that will work super hard over those 5 star primadonnas"

It’s especially hilarious when you take a look at the conversations that occur over on the rant about the lack of talent on the roster, especially at RB.

Foster Moreau was rated as the 1,984th best player in the country. He has turned out to be okay as a player. And LSU has a player that was rated as the 2,164th player in the country who is projected to start in only his second season. The NFL's leading rusher this year was a 2 or 3-star recruit of HS. So I certainly see why you would attempt to knock a RB of all positions to make some unimaginable point.
6 of LSU's lowest ranked recruits the last 10 years have played in the NFL.
This is an article done by the 24/7 guy (Shea Dixon) who runs the LSU page/site or whatever it is called.
This is just the LOWEST rated recruit for each class the last 10 years excluding JUCOs and special teams players - kickers, long snappers, punters.
quote:
2008: Lavar Edwards No. 959 overall prospect, No. 32 in Louisiana
He was a fifth round pick in the NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans
2009: Josh Williford No. 1,066 overall prospect, No. 34 in Alabama
Injuries forced him to call off his football career. He served out his final year on campus as a student coach for the Tigers in 2013.
2010: Alfred Blue No. 66 RB, No. 758 overall prospect, No. 19 in Louisiana
a sixth round NFL Draft selection by the Houston Texans, where he was on roster from 2014-17.
2011: Ronald Martin No. 43 CB, No. 624 overall prospect, No. 24 in Louisiana
signed by the Seattle Seahawks as an unrestricted free agent following the 2015 NFL Draft. He’s since spent time in the NFL with the Seahawks, the New York Jets, the Baltimore Ravens and two stints with the Indianapolis Colts.
2012: Kavahra Holmes No. 86 WR, No. 763 overall prospect, No. 30 in Louisiana
announced he was transferring out of LSU
* A side note, the second-lowest ranked recruit in LSU’s class that year was Jalen Mills, who went on to start immediately as a true freshman at LSU and was a starter in the secondary for the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles this past year.
2013: Duke Riley No. 42 OLB, No. 539 overall prospect, No. 22 in Louisiana
he went on to be selected in the third round of the NFL Draft with the No. 75 overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons.
2014: Russell Gage No. 74 ATH, No. 898 overall prospect, No. 32 in Louisiana
LSU’s Pro Day in April catapulted him up NFL Draft boards, with many mock drafts pointing to Gage as a late-round steal for an NFL team.
2015: Foster Moreau No. 74 TE, No. 1,984 overall prospect, No. 86 in Louisiana
a multi-year starter at tight end who is now one of the team’s veteran leaders - and certainly a name in the mix to take over the No. 18 jersey. Moreau’s slated to start at tight end again for LSU this fall.
2016: Lloyd Cushenberry No. 82 OG, No. 1,522 overall prospect, No. 71 in Louisiana
Fast forward two years and Cushenberry is now the heir apparent to Ethan Pocic and Will Clapp as the team’s next starting center, a position he took the first-team reps at this spring.
2017: Justin Jefferson No. 308 WR, No. 2,164 overall prospect, No. 76 in Louisiana
It appears Jefferson will be a starter for the Tigers during his sophomore season next fall.
And none of these players were ranked in the top 20 at their positions. Even the five that have ALREADY played in the NFL. If Gage gets drafted (HE DID) that will be six of the 10 lowest rated recruits to play in the NFL. With Moreau, Cushenberry and Jefferson still playing at LSU.

The information below is from JUST the 2017 NFL pro bowl.
Tom Brady wasn't a ranked prospect coming out of high school.
He did a little research surrounding this year's Pro Bowl roster. He found 37 of the 88 players headed to the NFL Pro Bowl were 3-star or lower recruits. Interesting stuff.

Keep referring to the exception rather than the rule. Bama, Clemson and Ohio State don’t rely on 3 stars to win championships.

I want to distance myself from Ree here.
Stars do matter and great players that were 3*'s or below are the exception, not the rule.
I, think this one player, in a vacuum, looks better than Noah Cain, who I think is pretty damn overrated. Cain keeps his legs pumping and is strong, but he lacks vision and breakaway speed IMO. Half his highlight tape at IMG is him pass blocking.
I think Spivey has ideal size, really good vision, and breakaway speed. I think he is underrated. He plays really good competition too.
He rushed for 944 yards on 74 carries with 14 TDs. That is 12.8 YPC against top comp. I do not know why he's not rated higher.

The exception?? You must be kidding right?
That was a lot of exceptions listed and that was just a few of what I have. I did not include Drew Brees or Marcus Colton.

They don't? Alabama had an unrated CB playing last year.
From RollBamaRoll.com:
"Levi Wallace: The former walk-on earned a scholarship just before the 2016 season began"
Take a look at Levi's VERY EXTENSIVE (LOL !!!) profile on 24/7
