Maybe kardell was going to FSU to talk to this kid about LSU

Hopefully we pick up the steam in recruitment on this kid now that's he's decommitted. Definitely since it's a big position in need.

Why would most any kid especially a high star kid go to State? Jesus Christ. Them getting Sweat & Simmons during the Mullen years was head scratching.

Florida State is a mess.

I checked Emery's Twitter page but didn't see it. Be nice if the two are close. LSU needs to get some big-time hogs to block for Emery and Davis.

This makes me happy!!!
We have a real and legitimate shot here. And I think he has a bright future. Somewhat of a project because of HS competition (Laurel MS isn't really a metropolis), but that's the only reason. Needs muscle mass, but that's easily taken care of in a P5 S&C.
We'll be battling MSST (Hudspeth) for him. The timing kind of sucks because we would have loved to have him at a game as non-committed. Forestall him committing to the Dogs, and our chances increase dramatically.

A college S&C and proper diet program on a long 6'5" kid can easily add 30-40 pounds of quality weight in 2 years. He likely won't start as a true freshman anyway so he would have at least 2 years to put on weight the right way and keep his athleticism.

Good point BentonTiger7! I took a quick look at The Gumps O-Line Roster (because that's the benchmark right) and as you mentioned 30-40 lbs of quality weight gain would be a must!
