You make a good point. If the kid wants to be an OT, let him try. Best case scenario is that he really is an OT. If not, convince him to switch to OG just like Dare Rosenthal (lol) and Devin White realized they had a better future at a different position.

I'm not following your logic. How would taking in Johnson help in the the recruiting of Arch? What help does Arch even need? He's the top rated QB and 2nd overall recruit in next year's class. He can pretty much go wherever he wants.

You ever go fishing?
Can’t catch fish without good bait.
A Qb’s number 1 WR in high school is pretty good bait to real in a fish like manning

I agree. The Manning’s are such a big brand, I don’t see him making a decision based on a high school WR. However, I don’t think it hurt the chances of landing Arch.

So did Coach O or someone on the college end ask them to help house AJ so they could have a commit in the same house as Arch? Not really following here.

I understand how a team recruiting Arch would be interested in taking AJ Johnson to help land Arch.
But that's not what MulkeyMan said. He said taking in AJ would be beneficial to the Mannings in Arch's recruiting. I don't understand how.

We're talking about how letting AJ live with them helps the Mannings, not how letting AJ commit to LSU helps LSU in recruiting Arch. I'm not following the logic of this. How does AJ living with Arch help Arch and the Mannings. The person I was responding to said that the Mannings were only letting AJ live with them for some sort of self-serving reason, and I'm curious how they benefit from the situation.

Not true at all. I pay to read 247 and a lot of times I hear news from Lota that isn’t on 247. I don’t know if they cannot say things from there sources and Lota can.
But I hear as much on here as 247.

You’re 1000% wrong. Manning was never going to be swayed by recruiting his teammate . Kid is from the most famous football family in history and you think our staff was dumb enough to think AJ Johnson was going to give us an inside track?

I can't remember who it was but there was a video of a DB recruit lining up against AJ Johnson in an actual game and AJ didn't get any separation on any of the plays I saw. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

He might not be an elite P5 recruit, but he is still a pretty dang good high school wide receiver.
Having good receivers makes the QB look better and it's more fun playing. If I was Arch, I'd want to do everything possible to keep a WR like that on my team.
ETA:
There was a PG on our basketball team in HS whose family took in a poor black kid that he played with in AAU circuit because he wanted to have him on his HS team.
Made the team better and made it more fun to play for our normally talent-deprived basketball team

Yeah that's why i said i think we get 2 out of the 4. Maybe 3 but you feel good about 2.

Was it against Jordan Allen?
