But Alabama came into Louisiana and took 2 of our top 5 players. The best safety and the best linebacker. All in our programs best year. Ouch.

Bama has the best recruiting staff in the country? What can you do? Saban said I can't beat them, so why not weaken my biggest threat to create a dynasty... 
In all seriousness, Saban has always been one of the best recruiters in the country. Miles is no slouch but Saban is the best, IMO. I'll give the gumps that. Maybe it has all the media perception of how godlike Saban is and Miles doesn't get that kind of respect. Saban probably feeds on that in recruiting.

I consider both to be special circumstances. Devall is made for the 3-4 scheme, he would have been a really good LDE as well but his best chance at reaching the NFL is playing in a 3-4. With LC, if his girl wasn't going to BAMA he would have already been committed to LSU.
I do think Davis is the 2nd best player in the state, FWIW.

but they never have. we have lost huge recruits out of the state. this is nothing new. we get bombarded by coaches from everywhere. its bound to happen

Davis, Feist, and Louis are probably better LBs, if that makes you feel better. Still, it is very disturbing that they went into our back yard and took two players we really wanted.
