Stadium looks good in gold like that for the UF game. Wish more people went with gold at the games.

I'm sorry...but the following comments (from the same poster) regarding Morris Claiborne must receive special distinction:

quote:

this guy makes rocky duplesis look like craig loston.

quote:

dj banks > morris. TULANE WINS

And the following needs to be given props...for a guy no longer around who nailed it:
quote:

Shreveport kid, got to be a good one. Sig updated.

You could also list the Dexter Blackmon thread. That is one where most of the posters got it right...and it is pretty amusing:

Dexter Blackmon is a Tiger!

The rant thought DJ banks was gonna be some beast,

RIP

I always enjoyed how he updated his sig pic with each new commitment

ETA: I'd forgotten I have him mentioned in my sig to this day.

Bump the OBJ thread and I'm pretty sure LE said he'd never make an impact here in that thread

I'm ready to eat crow on Williford whenever someone finds a thread from old discussing him

Other than him, I can't recall being upset about a commitment outside of the random "filler" recruits Les has gone after in each class (Josh Johns, Rocky, Ryan St. Julien, Houston Bates, etc). Those opinions were wide spread and the RB has been spot on for almost all of those.

No doubt there have been some surprises over the years -- but that is what recruiting is all about.

ETA: I know I have some posts from awhile back where I went through every single guy in the class and gave my opinion...if someone can track those down, I imagine there will be a couple good laughs

For every Morris Claiborne thread there are several boring others where most of the posters got it right.

Even the Morris Claiborne thread...there is some good give and take in there.

Still, it is great to go back and read those.

I went and pulled some random things I have posted going back to '08

Orson Charles

quote:

TE is such a big area of need for LSU, and by looking at just his frame, size, numbers, etc, you can tell this guy has All-SEC TE written all over him.

Lavar Edwards

"Who do you think will be a superstar that isn't highly ranked..."

Discussion of the UA game from a couple of years back...pretty interesting read.

Chase Rettig--For whatever reason, he impressed me. I feel like he is someone that understands the game. I liked the way he approached the game. I didn't know much about him going in, but came away impressed. I think BC got a good one.

Oddly relevant now.

I thought the same thing. Chase has had a rough start to his career at BC, but last I saw them play he was the starter. Still has a couple of years left if I am remembering correctly.

I don't remember calling him a failure, but I didn't think he should be the #2 guy in the country. But yes, you are correct that I wasn't as high on him as everyone else seemed to be.
