dammit. I realllllly was hoping he'd fall to me. Clemson seems to always have success with their highly rated receivers.

great great great choice

I almost took him in round 2. I would have if Charbonnet wasn't available. Then in round 3 I decided to go with Rhyan hoping that Ngata would fall to me in round 4.

He's a freak athlete. Another one of those guys that didn't bother going to any camps, so services could only evaluate his HS film and the Army All American game.

This is from the Sacramento area reporter...

quote:

Joseph Ngata hauls in pass and jets into endzone for 49-yard TD, and Folsom has tied Helix at 14 in @CIFState Division I-AA final. Ngata is the best HS receiver I've seen (@DonteStallworth is the other)...

Also this...

We get emails, voice mails & social media notes all the time wondering why more Sac-area/NorCal guys don’t land at Alabama or Clemson.
Simple answer: have to be elite to play for the elite.
That’s what Jonah Williams, Najee Harris & Joe Ngata are: mega elite.

Justin Eboigbe DE Alabama

I continue building my grown man defense with Eboigbe. One of best films of anybody in the class.

Give me Ishmael Sophser DT Alabama. I cant lose here. If he ends up a bust, I'll be a happy man. We all know the story with this guy.

I was prepared to not take a RB for this guy if he had somehow made it to me. Great pick and huge potential

GCB selects

Bryce Benhart, OT, Nebraska

Benhart is a giant. Literally. He’s 6’9 (NICE) and is going into a situation at Nebraska where he can play early. Not only is he enormous, but he can also move well for someone his size. He was also a state champion wrestler, which just adds to his physical blocking style. His agility and ability to add good weight made him an easy choice to be my LT.

and

Tyler Johnson, OT, Texas

Johnson is a former 5* OT that slid a little but as the recruiting cycle progressed. I think he’s probably better suited as a RT, so I drafted him as such. He’s quick off the snap and once he adds more muscle, he could be truly dominant in the run game for Texas. He’s an early enrollee, so he should be able to get a jump on one of the three open OL spots in Austin this fall.

With my 4th pick, give me Cade Stover OLB Ohio State. He's 6'5 235 and a hell of an athlete. I drafted both Bosa bros in previous drafts but this guy reminds me of a guy I drafted a few years ago named Sam Hubbard. He ended up getting picked in the 3rd round by the Bengals. Stover is ranked higher and looks more athletic.

Roll Tigers selects Ryan Hilinski, QB South Carolina

Brother of the late Tyler, committed to South Carolina the day after scattering his brother’s ashes back in April.

Even though he’s not on team jembeurt or LSU, it’s guys like these you want to pull for throughout his career.

I select Jeremiah Payton WR Miami

Think he's a talented, well balanced receiver. Should be a star at the U.
