I say tryouts but really it's call outs. They just want to see where this kids are athletically so we can draft properly. It's 7/8 year olds but it still didn't stop dickheads from stacking teams so they could win it all.
I'm not a big fan if travel ball, and I'm trying to keep out of it for as long as I can.

OBUDan Selects:
Connor Wedington, ATH, Stanford
He's a little smaller than I'd like, but I see him as a weapon-X type in Stanford's offense. With McCaffrey leaving for NFL, they should have PT available at the RB spot. He can be like a Tavon Austin that plays some RB, some WR, whatever. Top end speed isn't elite, but his quicks absolutely are. Explosive leaper + short shuttle means if he sees a crack, he's off to the races. I think he'll be one of those versatile offensive threats that lacks a true position unless he really adds like 20 pounds to play RB every down.

Thats baseball for you. This travel team is a little different. Coach has a daughter that no other team would take. So he started the team this year. I'm curious to see how it progresses.

I'm drafting jems son with my next pick

And that's one of my gripes with travel ball. Anyone can start a team. So you get a bunch of guys starting them, it thins out the talent and destroys rec ball. Then they go to tourneys, play against teams that have been together for years, get the doors blown off of them, and they get discouraged. I think there are at least 2 teams per age group with their own travel ball team. Our rec ball has suffered greatly due to it. In fact they combined 9-11, and I think they only have 3 teams. Sucks but that's what it has become.

If you don't mind a 4'3" 50lb skinny white kid, then you got him. He does have some speed so that'll work. I pray to everything holy that he ends up being at least my size (6' 185lbs)

Well, he is a "coach's son", so he must be a student of the game.

DownByTheBayou selects Benjamin St-Juste, CB Michigan
G... Dammit. Tried to get cute and wait one more round on him. Might be one of the steals of Michigan's class. Definitely underrated.
Team FibonacciSquared is going to go with Walter Grant in the 9th round here.

Another guy that was super underrated largely as a result of location and not doing the camp circuit. Was a hell of a battle for us to get him. He can play inside and outside at LB as well as with his hand in the dirt. Expecting big things out of him.

GCB selects:
Trey Sermon, RB, Oklahoma
Power back and an early enrollee. Only one of three backs on campus in Norman at the moment. I kept looking for a reason not to take him. I finally am.

I was considering Eze. Good pick there

Team DLD ready to makeup the 9th round pick. Give me Devonte Wyatt. He is a big dude headed to Georgia. 247 lists him as 6'3 300 and running a 4.6
right? Wrong. Watch this clip of this dude running track!
Big Boy Can Run
I guess I'll just draft him as a Defensive Lineman and see how the rest of my draft goes. Georgia will have to coach him up big time, but Wyatt is a crazy athlete for his size. He plays RB in some of his highlights on HUDL!

Snagging somebody right before somebody else picks him is the best part about the draft.

Agreed hell of a pick he will take 2 years to develop his technique but he will be a beast

Stoked to have this guy at Georgia. Hope he's not upset that Rocker's gone now, but I think with the right coaching, he's going to be exceptional. Good pick.
