First, I will say that it's amazing we can have a top 10 recruiting class going through a coaching change.

With the above noted, I think the coaching change has had more effect on closing in on the remaining top targets than we would have wanted to believe. It hurt with our top instate guys. We probably get 1/2 of them if not for the coaching change.

I think we will see what O is really made of during the next recruiting cycle. With that said, I would like to see a change in philosophy. For Years the h.s. coaches have screamed for lsu to recruit Louisiana first. LSU has done that. Holding out for Louisiana guys. (Joe McKnight, Landon Collins, Moses etc.)

I think this philosophy needs to change. The loyalty to recruit la first is not being reciprocated by the la athlete. I think you make them a priority, however, You recruit nationally and put pressure on certain La athletes. If a player of equal caliber wants in and the la athlete wants to play around, take the guy that wants in.

At this stage, lsu is losing some of their top athletes to one school. They aren't going to a bunch of different schools. That one school is the main competition for lsu. So, we should compete against that athlete at their respective position. It worked out with jamal adams, however, we should not be that late to the party. We possibly could have had Phillips already had we not wasted time on these two groupies.

We need to make the Louisiana athlete realize lsu is a privilege, not a right. When they start to realize that privilege, it makes lsu a more desirable place.

You cannot say that this is the case for every LA athlete. Some commit as soon as offered.

We do this already. We always have commitments from Florida and Texas and recently as well as this year Georgia (Targets: Markaviest Bryant, Tory Carter (Commit), Tyler Taylor.)

We took Austin Deculus this year instead of a guy like Adrian Ealy. We would have taken Cam Akers over a guy like Travis Etienne this year as well. So again we already do this, you just need to open your eyes and see it.

Keytaon Thompson going to Miss State, Bruce Jordan-Swilling going to Georgia Tech, Cheyenne Labruzza going to Tennessee in 2017. Last Year Deandre Christmas-Giles going to Texas, Mykel Jones going to Oklahoma. Year before that Jerry Tillery to Notre Dame, Kirk Merrit to Oregon, Justin Reid to Stanford. Year before that Kenny Young to UCLA, Speedy Noil to A&M (Blessing in disguise), Gerald Willis to Florida (Blessing in disguise).

Look at how many schools we are recruiting against man, it is not just Bama. Our state is flooded with talent and believe it or not some people want to "go away" for college. I know if I could have done it differently and had the financial means I would have went to school somewhere near the beach.

We possibly still might, for all you know he could have committed to us back then and "possibly could have" flipped later in his recruitment. Don't drive yourself crazy on "what could have been". We just went through a major coaching change, the fact that this class is as intact as it is is a miracle in itself. Get excited because 2018 will be a heck of a class and so will this years possible top 5 finish.

simple solution: BEAT BAMA with consistency and in-State recruits who are wavering on their decision will be begging to play for LSU

Only the ones who are waivering towards Bama, not the others going to various other out of state schools. Beating Bama will look good though.

I agree with most of what you said, but can you imagine the outrage here if we would have went after gay, Phillips, etc without making a run for Moses and Allen??
