What a wasted opportunity. Luken is a member of my family. I called the coaches at LSU a couple years ago trying to get them to recruit him. Their response? "Well, if he's interested, he needs to get in touch with us because our class is almost full."

I never seen baker pitch but my God can he hit. I wonder if the staff is planning on using Storz as a 2 way player if he makes it to campus. He could bring a lot more power to the DH spot than Bryce Jordan

Did we sign Gettys the LHP out of Ga. ? I may have missed it but didn't see anything lately about him. I heard he was very good.

Yesterday's Tournament of Stars saw 6 LSU commits in action.

St Amant RHP Blayne Enlow went 3 full innings, striking out 5 (one looking), walking none, and allowing one hit. The remaining outs were split even 2 and 2 between fly outs and ground outs.

Jupiter, FL Catcher Mason Doolittle split time between 1B and C but went 0-4 on the day with 2 K.

Jacob Pearson played CF for his team. He went 1-4 with a triple, an RBI, and a caught stealing. He also reached base on an error.

Mobile, AL OF Tanner Allen was 2-4 with a strikeout and a stolen base.

2018 IF Brice Turang of San Diego was 2-4 with a walk and a run scored. He split time between 2B and CF.

OF Daniel Cabrera finished his day 1-2 with a strikeout.

Nick Storz and Cole Henry are expected to pitch today. I will be tracking the action whenever possible.

I enjoy it so it's good to know that it's appreciated.

I think it's going to be near impossible for LSU to hang on to Brice Turang in the 2018 class.

Marucci Elite 15, 16, and 17 will be in town this weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing as many games as possible. Unfortunately they're spread out roughly 40 miles with games at OCS, Neville, ULM, and Tech. I'll definitely be at all the Marucci Elite 16u Black games. Nephew is playing for them this year. Hopefully he can play and swing the bat. He hurt his hand at Tulane/A&M camp. Someone tackled him in one on ones.

Prep baseball ranked Enlow 7th in the state or nationally?

Enlow is #2 in the state behind Cabrera.

Hopefully Hess' control isn't too bad, he might have to be a Saturday starter next year.

I am going to throw this out there.......is there a chance CPM decides to let Hunter Newman be a starter? We might need him to be and it might increase his draft stock.

I'll do a larger update next week on how the USA Baseball Tournament of Stars went. All the LSU commits have had a decent showing so far.

2018 Shortstop from San Diego Brice Turang is 6-9 with a BB, 5 R, 1 3B, 1 RBI, 2 SB, .667/.700/.889 slash line, and he's played 2B, SS, and CF in the two games.

If that's the case maybe Gilbert could be the closer next year.

Newman is best in the closer role. I'm not sure if he has the stamina to throw 100 pitches a weekend either.

Gilbert and Bain have got to step up now.

Storz won the home run derby. If he gets graded as a hitter and pitcher he might have a 70 grade power. Those guys don't usually go to college.
