Don't mind at all Topisaw.
I didn't touch on Quinn because he is so advanced. His body and skillset are close to where they're gonna end up. That said, I think his current progress all around is where most of the top wrs want to get. Hes that far ahead of most developmentally. He is so much like Landry in that regard. Sometimes what a kid has currently is so good that upside is not really a factor. Others are looking up at kids like Landry and Quinn.
Gamble-I'm no kicker expert so I can't really say much about him. Has a huge leg but can he kick it straight?
Clapp is a good one but I don't see huge upside. I see a good SEC caliber OG that gets to the NFL and just hangs around because if his mindset and work ethic.
I see where people get on the Upchurch train because I'm on it myself. Kid is a stud. I just don't see the upside at wr. Hes already getting to the point of being too big at wr as it goes with his speed and athletic gifts so his upside is limited there. He will improve as a route runner and his hands some but he's already ahead of a lot of kids. At TE he has quite a bit of upside because his body can develop so much but how much and how much does it hurt is athletic gifts? Also limiting his upside to me is this, what is he? Is he a wr? TE? Hback? Hard to judge upside when its unknown exactly where his skillset fits best. His talent is unquestionable but what good is it if he has no true position? I ask myself sometimes is his upside better on defense? Don't know the answer because I haven't seen him on that side but his body screams LB or rush end to me. I think the kid will be a productive player on offense but how productive? Is he gonna catch over 20-25 balls a year? Hard for me to see that. The other wrs are more talented and better wr fits and the TEs like Smith and Washington are better bodies and athletic bodies at TE. I hope the kid finds a spot and thrives but I have a hard time figuring out exactly where and how he produces.
All in all, who knows. We all have our own good, sound opinions and that's why I come here and read what you good fellas think. Who knows who's right? That's what makes these threads fun to read.

I think your wrong about Godchaux, Gage, & Teuhuma mayb upchurch also. I think [/quote]
it's hard to say about the gage kid because the teams redemptorist played last year was so weak that most players can look great against that competition.
i think Godchaux has the potential for the most upside

Jacory Washington gets overlooked, he could be the best TE in the country before he leaves LSU
I think I am going to go with this one. He performed well in the Under Armour game and there was a reason why he got several balls thrown to him. He must've really shown something in practice is all I can think. Couple this with the fact that Alabama was hounding him before signing day. Big time program that saw something.
Let me clarify the thought. The athleticism and ability is already there. His athleticism has been overlooked and underappreciated. He could be an instant impact player this year.

Upside, implies potential over current status to me.
To that end, I looked at the lower end of the 4-star and 3-star recruits.
LMFAO, Battle, Gage and Alexander leap out here, as the number of other, more highly regarded players we have at those positions make these players get lost in the shuffle, IMHO.
Out of those, I really think Battle is going to turn some heads. Could be that next great nickel we've been looking for.

Devin Voorhies will be a very great tiger he may not have the most upside but I believe he will develop into a great safety for LSU

This is my first ever post on TD - great site for true Tiger fans. I agree with you about the potential of Godchaux. He has room to grow and is terribly athletic.

I agree. "Upside" isn't the ideal word for this class. It's more about guys living up to their potential.

If you watched Auburn play this year and saw how they used their H backs and WRs as downfield blockers on running plays, I believe you will be able to forecast Upchurch in a similar role. He can catch the ball. But he has the body to be a punishing blocker against defensive backs. I believe Cameron will incorporate some of that Auburn downfield blocking in our offense with physical players like Upchurch. He is a hybrid. H-back. Tight End. WR. If you can line up a running back and a tight end wide, what is wrong with putting Upchurch out wide. Cameron's whole concept is getting mis-matches.

This is a no brainer...Devin Voorhies

Valentine and Godchaux IMO... especially Godchaux.
Godchaux has DT size with DE athleticism. And already is built like an SEC DL. If he can come back full strength... he will be a MONSTER.
Valentine is just a freak. That big and freakishly quick off the ball.
If we can use him right... Upchurch could be a monster as well.
And I expect Dupre to be great for us. Best WR prospect to come out since AJ Green / Julio Jones year IMO.

Do people not understand what upside means?
No one has a higher ceiling than Fournette. You could maybe make a case for Dupre

Easily LF. He literally has the potential to go down as the greatest tiger of all time.
This.
If you're looking for a sleeper or someone outside of LF then we can accept other answers. If not, it's inarguably LF.
