Makes way more sense for DJ, as his combine numbers will likely catapult him into the 2nd round, maybe even 1st.

LOL at jackson going in the first round. Tre white got picked last in the first round

Just sayin, teams get real crazy when a player runs 4.3 or better. May sound crazy but I think he could sneak into round one with a tremendous combine.

Not quite last. I thought he was in the mid twenties.

as juniors. I wonder how that affects Anthony cook decision.

Sorry this turned into yet another KT2/DJ draft projection thread. But to the original question...I don't think those guys leaving early will impact Cook very much.

I doubt he looked at their depth chart and was too worried about being able to compete for playing time. As someone else pointed out, Hill has been suspended for the past month and has been projected to be a first round draft pick by some experts. So, I would think that Cook didn't need a formal announcement to assume that Hill wouldn't be on the team next year.

It's not like Texas had a very good pass defense last year. They were ranked 107 in yards allowed per game. So, other than Hill, it doesn't seem like their other corners are very good.

Why are 2 DB's declaring if they were 107th in pass defense lol

Because as individuals there were really good, both have PFF grades that put them in the Top 15 players in the country at their respective positions.

How good an entire defense is against the pass isn't left up to just 2 DBs. You have 2, 3, 4 other DBs on the field a lot (Especially in the Big 12) and then you have your reliance on the front 7 to apply pressure to the QB. If your pass rusher give other QBs 5 second pockets, it really doesnt matter how good your DBs are, guys will get open.

Just goes to show how much a team sport football is and you're only as good as your weakest link. They have a potential first rounder at one corner and still gave up almost around 285 passing yards per game. It tells me the other guys got picked on. A lot.

While This may be true, it would be a stupid move by DJ and KT2.

You realize they both will be drafted in first few rounds, right?

2 of our corners will be declaring too.

Donte is going to blow up the ranks because of his combine. Every year somebody gets drafted way higher than recently expected because of combine numbers. Plus with what White, Mills, Adams, Martin, and the LSU vets are doing, he'll get another nice bump based on DBU's reputation.

I see him as an early second round pick.

Toliver is probably a 4th rounder, and unless a team falls in love with him at workouts, I don't see him going higher than that. Now that doesn't mean he should come back though. The CBs LSU has and will have will likely make way more plays and be way more effective than he is. He doesn't have elite athleticism, and isn't a lockdown corner.

I';d say they're plenty ready if they are drafted by an NFL team. They are the judge not you.
