Or, 7 of 24 from the Boot
One spot left, so it could move to 8 out of 25.
Is 32% (or less) enough?

Take the best players we can get

Pretty amazing. You take the best players you can get.
O is absolutely killing it.

What would you suggest? Serious question.

Sure. Obviously that aspect is sound. The question relates to instate relationship building.

Wow. You’re actually saying this is a bad thing.

It’s a wake up call to those in state to commit and not play games. I love it

Been saying it for years... a fence keeps people out just as much as it keeps people in.
The idea that a LA player automatically get the bulk of the benefit of the doubt (for lack of a better term) gives our competition an advantage and allows them to get a double-wammy on us. I'm ok with some benefit of doubt, not bulk; and some of that is 'organic' because of frequency of contact, visibility (due to geographical closeness), networking with local coaches/HS, and good ole fandom.
If any other SEC coach, yes- including but not limited to Saban, knows that we will devote more resources and give preferential treatment to a recruit from LA than a recruit from State X, then he knows we don't have State X recruit in the bag. If the recruit from LA is a stud, they know to get him both gains them and robs us because the replacement was by default back burner.

We have tried in state loyalty and it burned us. In state coaches, players and handlers wanted to play games with the staff. I’m so damn happy we aren’t playing those games anymore. I feel like the Sospher Amite Barber sh*t show last year closed that door and hopefully forever. I hope LSU has made it clear, diplomatically of course, to in state players and coaches either commit early or risk losing your spot. By the look of this years class, I’d say we are sending a message!

I think this proves that players dont owe us anything because they are instate. If we are going OOS, then they can go OOS. Just because they go OOS, doesnt make them a bad person like many people label them as.

Tells me it’s a down year for Louisiana top prospects

If you continue to recruit like O is recruiting on a national level you won’t need to give to shites about in State relationships. It tells future recruits if you are from Louisiana and want to play for the tigers get your spot early because we are going to get an extremely talented guy from somewhere in the country to take your spot.

Well … it depends on which state they go to, doesn't it?

Maybe this board will now stop talking shite every time some high profile guy from Louisiana leaves to another state when they see that stat. Not everybody wants to go to the state school, or best football program in their state no matter how good.
You take the best you can get, the guys that want in, and forget about the rest.

I would Say yes in a down-ish year in state
We’re still looking good getting our top guys.
Only real Miss would be Van Pran.

I kind of agree with this, imo top 10 prospects in the state really we need to take imo, exception being players in top 10 that play same position..
Really wish we had more from in state, but I understand taking the best player so hard when so many guys want in

So you have no pride or loyalty to your state or LSU? Why the hell are you even on here then?

There’s something to be said playing for your home state. I feel some programs that bring in kids from all over year after year turn into NFL stop gaps, and lack the passion needed to win a championship.
It’s a double edge sword, Bc you definitely want the best you can get.

Just looking at this positions of each recruit.
I feel like we have hit every position on defense perfect. Packed with Trenchmen and LBs and nice haul of defensive backs.
Offensively WR, TE perfect
QB - out of 2 hopefully both can shine
OL - need 2 more commits
RB - don’t need it but will take one for sure which is gonna most likely happen.
This group of 25 can literally make an entire team minus a few OL. It’s insane how good this class is.
