You do realize LA produces the best talent right? Not opinion, just fact. Why would losing all your best prospects not hurt LSU?
It hurts even more when a coach and his staff believe they can come into Louisiana and grab anyone they want. I get the old ties to the state, but no other team (maybe aTm does now) really think they can come into Louisiana and get recruits. LSU now has to deal with the offensive system at aTm, and all the other bullshite from Bama. However, when a kid makes a decision before his junior year of HS, I'm sure he has a school in mind and jumps when that offer is extended.

Willis hurt a bit too, but yeah, I get what your saying and agree.

Time will tell. I'm hoping LeBron's loyalty and how the media is positively showing it may trickle down to today's youth.
Sad that we need that, but certain young people definitely aren't getting it at home

I've never fret over recruiting stuff, but if we go 2/5 on top LA prospects I will start becoming increasingly alarmed.

I don't blame Carter one bit. He's 2016 and in 2015 LSU already has Kevin Toliver II and Xavier Lewis committed. 24/7 and LSU's new depth chart show Ed Paris as a corner now.

So much for competition huh? I don't think the depth chart kept Mathieu and Reid from seeing the field as freshmen.

Nor did it keep Robinson and White from starting last year as true freshmen. With the other recruits mentioned in this thread LSU's defensive backfield will be just fine.

If Carter doesn't want to compete with that I can understand. He probably will have a better chance of getting on the field earlier at the other place.

Why do put Louisiana players on a pedestal? Why does it matter where LSU gets their players? As long as LSU maintains its current level it doesn't matter. If another school signs a Louisiana player, so what? Just find someone else. LSU has shown they can find capable replacements. Also, I think you are just mad because you can't take Alabama fans rubbing it in your face.

I'll probably take a little timeout from recruiting if that's the case.

3/5, with Fulton naming A&M his leader and Alexander..well..

I won't bitch and moan..I just take a break

Allen won't sign anywhere until February of 2016 since he's a Curtis kid. He'll flip flop between LSU and Bama 100 times between now and then. LSU has a lot going for them in this situation. We have three of his former teammates on our roster, he's tight with Tre Turner, we'll probably have three o-lineman drafted in next year's draft, and Grimes is a great recruiter.

Fulton named A&M his leader because he had a good visit and someone stuck a mic in his face. He knows LSU will get him to the league faster than A&M. Pretty sure he unnamed A&M his leader too.

I still don't understand all this Ed Alexander shite. If he was such a Bama lock, wouldn't he mention them? Wouldn't he visit them? Wouldn't he be at their camp right now? He has reiterated multiple times that LSU is his leader by a wide margin. And before anyone says oh, he doesn't say anything about them because they haven't offered, Shyheim Carter named us his leader without an offer. So not having an offer really doesn't matter. If the kid likes a school he'll still mention them.

Well you make good points. We want in-state kids to be loyal to LSU, but LSU does not offer every in-state kid. I'm sure LSU has passed on some kids who would have loved to play for the P&G. I can't say LSU lost a kid if it never offered. It's just every time a LA kid commits to the Gumps it's made out to be like it was a battle between the two schools. Sometimes it is, most of the times it's not. Again, if you commit before your junior year, you had an idea what offer you would jump on.

this.

i've said it multiple times on here: commits might not make their decisions based solely upon the in-state CLM bashing, but hearing everyone talk shite about him and praising saban makes the zeitgeist favorable for louisiana kids to want to go to bama. that doesn't mean that everyone needs to be sunshine pumping day in and day out, but stopping the perpetuation that miles is a simpleton and saban is a genius would have tangible, even if minor, positive effects in recruiting. i mean, miles signs tops players every year while being lampooned. if everyone's perception was that he was a genius (having exactly the same record and results as he does now), imagine how much stronger our recruiting would be...

Sometimes I think it is easier for Miles to get the top players from out-of-state because they don't have to hear the constant nagging from everyone from the bus driver to their parents. Les is probably viewed more favorably in the other 49 states than the one state he happens to work in.

Last year according to Rivals LSU had 12 OOS and 12 in-state players sign with them.

accept the fact that this is a smaller world now, and that LSU is a national brand. Media coverage allows coaches insight into players they would have known nothing about 10 years ago.

louisiana will continue to be invaded because of the talent level here, and the fact that there is only one in state school to fight with. At the same time, LSU will continue to pick up players from around the country. most of the time it evens out. relax.

books, you could never work for me. anyone that bitched like this when something bad happens would be fired on the spot.

i can't believe i just read this entire thread....
