I don't have any inside info on it.
I just know the need is there.

Yep, no doubt about it. Definitely a need at that spot.

I personally don’t think we necessarily need another TE. Kole Taylor has 4 years of eligibility left, Jack Bech does too, not really sure where Storz is at eligibility wise. Johnson will be there next year. However, if it’s a kid like Mason Taylor where his dad has the NFL connections, I could see us taking a kid like that.

Good list: but, NO Denver Harris or K Wilson ships have sailed east and west of LSU

At least 2 current guys won’t be here, perhaps more
Most likely commits:
Moss
Law
Mason Taylor
Emery Jones
Armella
Shazz
Wiggins
Tapp
Azarayeh Thomas
Ausberry
Least likely:
Lucas
Abor
Neto
Stewart
Perkins
Kamari
Denver Harris

Iota - Thinking about OOS OL recruits. Has the ship sailed with Kam Dewberry and Devon Campbell? What are the chances of landing one of Armella, Agbo, or Nemo Umeozulu?

Would you reserve spots for the transfer portal if LSU could sign high four star or five star talent?
I wouldn't.

but why cant we get offensive lineman like some of the other elite programs?
I'm tired of hearing that complaint ad nauseam every freaking day, when the answer is so freaking obvious.

No way. Stewart
Stewart held his hand out and demanded cash. He isn't getting any.

Jack Bech does too,
Jack Bech isn't a tight end. He's a wide receiver who may make a few snaps, along with Devonta Lee as a flex tight end.

I've heard Denver Harris may still be in play due to the number of highly ranked cornerbacks that committed to Alabama last season.

Not looking very promising on the 1st 2. Still hearing very promising and mutual feedback on 2/3 of last 3 names. 1 of the last 3 potentially declaring his announcement much sooner than expected, If that is factual then it will be for the good guys. Just a side note, Emery Jones is transforming his body into possibly playing R tackle in college, or possibly Left tackle on a team with L handed QB (Johnson). Staff knows he is criminally underrated by recruiting services and has every bit the potential of Will Campbelll. Watch the kid play basketball, you will see why. He will in all likelihood be a starter by his 2nd year, just unknown at what position. Hopefully he commits soon .

Yes they will 100% leave a minimum of 2 initial 25 counters open. It really isn’t up for debate. In this new landscape it is essential. Joe Burrow proved the invaluable dividends the portal can bring. Things happen nearly every year to teams during the offseason not foreseen . Let’s take this year, how nice it would have been to grab a plug and play tackle from the portal after Rosenthal transferred?

Did the staff ask him to do that?

I would definitely reserve at least one (1) scholarship, but probably two (2), because they essentially represent a form of “currency”that’s required for acquiring talent.
Reserving a couple scholarships for use in the transfer portal is An important part of effective roster management IMO, and they give coaches greater flexibility for managing a roster that evolves and mutates more rapidly than ever (from injuries, transfers, opt-outs, etc)
Furthermore when has Orgeron not reserved a couple scholarships for this purpose? You’re being naïve if you think we sign a 25-man class comprised 100% of high school recruits.

That, I honestly don’t know. Just an observation told to me. But what I do know is this years offense line class is shaping up to have as many as four multi- year above avg. SEC starters signed. Let’s all hope these athletes first of all sign with us, and then mature into what is planned. Unfortunately, as been reported ad-nauseum, we have all the pieces to be National Contenders yearly, except o-line. I see this years class as the beginning of the end to that problem .

You have to save at least 2 spots for the portal.
Some years i wouldn't be against 3.

24/7 insiders think he is a starter next year as freshman. Along with Campbell. They expect the whole line to depart after this year so next will be tough on the outside at tackle
But if Bradford and Dumervil and Dellinger come along as expected it could be a great core that will grow into a national contender team but next year will be really young upfront.
