My elderly aunt lives in Metairie around Henry Landry Ave and my Uncle passed away earlier this year. This will be the first hurricane she's gone through without him. I haven't been able to contact her. Does anyone in this area know how it's holding up?

btw, I'm in Shreveport

Just look at how Nola is doing. Metairie will be very similar. Levees and pumps are kicking some arse right now so I'm sure she's fine, power probably gone, but should be fine.

Thanks, I'm not familiar with the area so I wasn't sure what to look for on here. Their house survived Katrina pretty good so I was hopeful that this would be the same.

Im near W metaire and Severn, have not lost power yet. She's around mike Miley which is about 5 miles from here.

Wind has been strong since about 1am. Steady rain during that same period. Right now going through a little lull.

Saints practice facility in Metairie is doing fine. Lost power once but is fine now. That's all I found on Metairie.

I live 1 mile from her on the opposite side of David dr. I haven't heard anything bad about anything in Metairie. I still have power. I've only seen a tree down on the next block. I'm pretty sure she's fine.

Just spoke to a friend who lives in the same area, power is still on, heavy winds, many home have lost a lot of shingles, so she could have roof damage and water damage.
Luckily that area still has power and no flooding.

Also, phone service and cable are out.
But she should be fine.

Drove near there earlier (airline and airline park), the neighborhood looked to be out of power, but no apparent flooding. Spotty trees down in places. Lots of cops around. I'm sure she's fine.
