Entergy doesn't seem too concerned or optimistic about restoring power, especially to SE LA within the next week.

Hope you packed some deodorant. You gonna be sweatin.

will run out of gas on Saturday probably. May start rationing use of the generator. Can probably get somebody to bring me some gas though.

Well yeah, there's been a ton of damage and almost all of New Orleans is red on their map. They can't even do anything until the winds die down, and by that time they'll have to fix up the whole city.

What's the chance they put the CBD on the top of the priority list?

They should be able to start in the more southern part of the state late tonight and into tomorrow as this thing moves towards the north. Not all places have downed lines due to trees or whatever. I imagine SOME will be without it for a while but a lot will get it back tomorrow.

I have friends that like in the district. Hopefully near the top. It is the heart beat of business in the city of course.

I live a block from the Quarter...can't get in touch with roommates. Power report for the area? I'm assuming if bars are open then I probably have power, but I don't want to drive back tomorrow if I don't.

I saw two Energy trucks on West Esplanade earlier, hopefully repaid soon.
I'll be out of gas by the morning, unless I take from a car.

CBD is usually pretty easy to get back up and running since everything is underground. Usually just have to play with a transformer or something.

Why would you say they don't seem too concerned?

I'd say just throwing out a week estimate off the top of your head doesn't make it being perceived as a priority- just you accepting reality and adjusting to it.

Pretty much at Ursulines and N Rampart. Roommate just texted back, no power and she is wasted at Molly's on Decatur. She also ate all my ravioli.

With everything being underground, as long as there is no damage to the substation it might be as simple as reclosing a breaker.

They say a week, that's worst case. Not because it isn't a priority.

Will take 3 days max

Ok I agree with that. They know from experience how to get things done. It's hard to move fast when everything is fricked up. Safety is #1 for those guys

She probably did you a favor if there is no power.

True, I just think it's funny she included that in her text message. Hopefully she got rid of the other perishables, too. This is her first hurricane.
