Pretty awesome how every house backs up to water, but living there is just asking for flooding.

yeah.. it is..

these events ain't supposed to happen every 7 years.. i love the water and wouldn't live somewhere so hot and be stuck inland, without the coastal breeze.. don't know how people can live that way.

Flooding on sanctuary Boulevard at the second cardinal lane turn. Saw a facebook post about it 2 hours ago. Said wasn't in houses at that time.

Guste Island has about 20 beautiful homes but they are a V16 flood zone meaning it's a velocity zone with a 16 foot elevation requirement. Those houses are ok except for the non-code stuff built downstairs.

ETA: Port Louis is NOT elevated like that and probably in big trouble.

A couple of houses are flooding in Doubloon Bayou Estates in Slidell. I don't know how to post my pics, sorry.

Yeah, I'm sure the boat launch is all under water at this point. That's pretty safe to say.

Side note, the fact that T-Rivers is still in business after all these years in such a remote location is pretty impressive

Anyone on the south side of slidell near the dellwood or westchester subdivisions? Curious to see if the water is getting into the neighborhoods over there.
