You can still claim lost food as part of your overall losses but the food is subject to the hurricane deductible, which is 4% of the house's coverage for my State Farm policy.

I didn't know they made changes. I actually didn't know they paid for food until my agent told me to claim it along the small claim I had during Katrina.

They didn't, it was just added on to the rest of your claim. If you filed a claim just for food it would more than likly be less than your deductible...

Unless your fridge was full of filet mignon and cavier, I can't see how the hell it is worth your trouble or the insurance company's to bother with something like a claim.
