bwhahaaha, ask someone from St Francisville that went through Gustav. They hit the main shite then left their customers for weeks.
I have had both providers and both are the same. It matters where you live and the situation.

All I'm saying is it sounds to me like people were saying they were making an effort to restore power.

I'm at work so I can't say first hand, but my wife said she has already seen Entergy trucks in P'ville.
Seems like they were working through the storm swapping switchgear because power was coming and going the whole time.
It also doesn't help that this storm my keep blowing for another 12 hours, and speaking from experience, being in a bucket/lift with any wind is never a safe option.

The map shows that I have power and I don't.
I sent them a STAT text to see and they said there were no outages at my location.

I just did the same. My status is:
"Evaluating"
In other words nothing is being done.

They'll be out in the morning to start making assessments. They will then work to restore power to critical infrastructure, then they will restore power to as many residents as they can as quick as they can. It is dangerous for them to go out at night when tree limbs and down power lines will be hard to see.

They should use their map to identify where they're located.

give it up, the dude is whining because he has to go a day without a/c. maybe it will teach him to prepare a little better next time.

I left AC to come back to this. You'd be whining too.

Do you really think that Entergy is just sitting around, laughing it up, doing nothing? Really?
Dude, I'm sorry about your refrigerator. I really am. And, not having power. That sucks. But, maybe they are working hard and it takes more than a minute to get to your place. And, maybe their computers are screwed up. Or, they got bad data. There was just a hurricane, afterall.

I really don't know how the computers work, but I noticed some people who had power earlier were listed as not having it. I would imagine it is using some sort of resistance calculation, or old fashioned homeowners calling in.
Most people won't call in a downed line after a hurricane so that is why the crews have to go around and find them.

I hear you and all but give me a minute...
This power went out yesterday before the storm even came close. We're talking 5PM. They been evaluating ever since.

My power went out just after a few gusts around noon yesterday

You really need to relax. Clean your freezer, then go back to where you had ac. This is the downside of living where hurricanes come. They're doing the best they can, and if you don't like it, start your own power company and see how easy it is.

CR, if it makes you feel any better I never lost power.

Remove yourself from the problem.....go back to where you had a/c.

Suggestion about the Entergy map.
Don't just pay attention to the red and green lines.
Look at your specific area to see of there are any triangles. Even if all of the lines are green, if there's a triangle, that is an indication of a service interruption for some customers in that area.
