My parents live in st Andrews in belle terre, can't get in touch with them...last I heard this morning they lost a tree and part of the roof...don't know about water :/

my parents live right there, no water in homes as of yet.

That may be my cousin, actually. Does this girl have two older brothers and her parents live toward the back of a bunch of family land?

Two older brothers and an older sister along with one younger brother. Shes almost 30. Yep. Family land. Tried texting her but no answer

Yeah, a bunch of relatives live in that stretch. Haven't seen many since funerals, but I'm making sure they're ok.

I keep seeing posts on FB with people who's parents are still living there but they are out of Laplace. They are asking for rescues and people with boats and the areas are creeping further up 51 than before.

Thats sad to hear. IIRC, that area didn't flood. The family always rode out storms there. They lost power for some time, but Ive never heard anyone tell flood stories, and this goes back 60 plus years. Maybe that's a newer problem with coastal issues.

Wifes aunt and uncle in Spring Meadows are flooded and likely being rescued/evacuated by boat. Boat rescues are being coordinated from a nearby Home Depot from what I've heard...sounds pretty bad

Is that one of the newer subdivisions off 51?

I wish everyone in LaPlace the best. Except my ex. I hope she has to swim to shore.

Ok, heres what I just heard. If you know that stretch of 51, and where her family lives, her house is still okay, but two houses in front may have water. The relative on the farther side closer to the interstate is still okay, but water is surrounding them.
If this keeps rising, I won't be surprised to hear if they all flood.
And yes, I confirmed, none of these houses have flooded before. There has been water in the yard, but never in the houses.

Anyone know how Reserve is doing, particularly off Airline near Reserve Christian?

Wow. I know for a fact her house has never flooded as I've known her since birth. My dad coached her brothers in soccer and we all are close. Crazy stuff.
My mom lives in Riverlands and while the eye is very high, not in houses yet. At least not on Ridgefield. As far as 51 and Rivwr Forest, it's not good. Get worse every time I look on FB.ore and more houses of family and friends are all flooded.

If I hear any more I'll post that, too. It didn't sound very good. Not like plaquemines parish, but worse than what they've experienced before water wise. Trees have fallen as well.
Growing up we rode go karts all along the area when it was still farmland. No new 51, no subdivisions, just soy beans. I'm not from Laplace, but family there and reserve for generations.
