7 of the 11 storms this year lasted 5 days or less. A couple existed for 3 days. Did they always name storms that quickly? Would storms like Florence or joyce have even been noticed during the 1960's and prior?

That point has been made by weather historians. Likely there have been storms that slipped under the radar, so to speak, in the past.

'05 also didn't have those two rediculously early named storms.
