[Edited to include larger photo, after a complaint or two]
Took this post-freeze, so only small leaves near the ground remain:
Larger leaves and cotton candy pink flowers on 8-10 foot tall stalks. Blooms in the late summer/fall. Plant appears to spread via root runners. Need to ID so I can determine how/when to prune and transplant.
Based on comments thus far, this does look a confederate rose - thanks for the help.

How about a bigger picture?

Scale is important. Put your foot into the next picture. Are we talking bush, shrub, or bedding plant?

Pic is so small, but from what I can see, this reminds me of Turk's Cap.

Good guess, that and the flower color makes Turks Cap a possibility.

Based on the picture of the leaves and description, another possibility is Confederate Rose (Hibiscus mutabilis)

There are some good phone apps that work well. A friend has one and it’s always correct. I’ll edit and add name of app when he responds to text.
