Would Older Ryobi "Expand-it" accessories work with current battery Ryobi powerhead?

I have several older Ryobi "expand-it" and other compatible accessories that have worked well with Ryobi gas powerheads over the many years.
Considering replacing current sometimes balky gas powerhead with a Ryobi 40V battery one. Or similar compatible one I suppose...
I assume the older accessories would work but how well would they work with the battery powerhead? Are they too inefficient and drain the battery too quickly?
Or am I overthinking this?
Thanks.

I also had the Ryobi gas head and replaced it with the Ryobi 40V head. All of my existing Expand-It accessories worked fine with the electric head (edger, trimmer, blower). However, there was a noticeable decrease in performance of the leaf blower. The electric head simply isn't as powerful as the gas one. It still works good enough, though.

Thanks - Mine are upwards of 20yrs old.
I have a Ryobi blower and edger, then a pole saw and weed whacker from other mfrs.

I have a mix of both and they all have been interchangable. I've yet to have my 40V battery go dead on me.

I have the gas head and really only have the string trimmer. I have a decent amount of edging to do and just use the trimmer at the moment. Is the edger worth it? I have a decent amount of driveway and street front compared to a typical suburban home.
