Which system did you like more? Did the 3k include install?
Yes, that was installed. I liked the US Water Systems setup better because I got more for my money. The Culligan was a little more basic but the process was really simple, the install was very good workmaship and I knew I could just call Culligan if there were problems.
Neither were the most inexpensive options out there but I knew I was getting something effective both times.

Any plumber can install. It’s pretty easy. I called aquasana direct. Sales rep discounted even more than price shown online

For those that have a water softener....did you change how you wash your clothes and dishes? Different or less soap?

You will need to use about 50-67% less soap/detergent for clothes and dishes when you have a salt based or potassium based water softener.
If you use a water "conditioner" there will likely be no change in how much detergent you will need to use.

So no more pods?
Not necessarily.
The pods did end up making my dishwasher not happy and coated with detergent residue leaving me with excess sudding problems. I had to run it a couple times with pure water and some vinegar to get it washed out and then it was good again. I switched to cascade complete powder so I could dose it however I wanted. I have been thrilled with it. It cleans great and no need for rinse agent and it is super cheap.
The washing machine you can probably still use pods but it would be highly recommended to always run the extra rinse cycle. I use about 30-40% the normal detergent level for my washing machine.

I don’t have all the bells and whistles, but the company told me I didn’t need the light unless I was under boil advisories ever, and I opted not to add salt due to the possibility of less water pressure and forgetting to not use tap water for certain things. Plus I didn’t want the added cost. Mainly my issue was chlorine smelling water and this took care of it right away. They drop ship filters to me once a quarter for the smaller filters on each side of the big carbon filter.
