Keep in mind goats can escape from most enclosures. It’s what they do. Fences need to be high and tight with no weak spots.

Wonder what the Homeowner's Association will think.

To process a deer, an inspector need not be on site. To process beef, pork, etc., (anything that will be sold or is commercially raised) requires an inspector be on site.

Yes I am well aware of the processing time delays. That is why I checking for places that do goats.
I know I could probably do it myself and may have ro, once I learn how. I have been told it is very close to deer except the meat has more fat htsn deer have.
Cutting is suppose to be different. I think YouTube make be a little too woke with vegetarians to be a lot of help in this regard.

Not worried about reselling at this point. However, your point is well taken and noted. I had already considered that which was the readon I was asking. If I do try to sell them I could do that.
However, there are other options. In the Muslim community some of the mosques have a day where they secure goats for the congregation according to my next door neighbor. When I get to that point, I may check into that.
Pardon miss[ellings. I do not have my glasses on.

I don't have goats but a fellow rancher buddy swears he has a higher profit margin on goats than cattle.
He keeps trying to give me one but I can't. My wife already treats the cows like pets that the goats would he her babies. I already have to have a rule that if my wife has to bottle feed an animal, it belongs to her.

If you do sell to Muslims, they generally like to do the killing and skinning themselves. They say a prayer for the goat and for the knife.

Poor guy if you have an HOA. No sense in feeding that sickness with a neighbor. I was so proud a few years ago when I found out my daughter's first question when looking at houses was, "No HOA, right?" She is her own HOA and proud of it!
So far none of my neighbors fussed, and actually they were positive. Several of them told me about raising livestock with their parents. I think risk from food shortages have changed a lot of people minds.
I testing my automatic grain goat feeder (not gravity). Right now it is working fine. If it works for about 4 more days, I will test for a year (weather) but for $160 it is a good solution.
When the kids come over to refill the hay feeder, no one has to go into the yards. As long as the tank is filled on the feeders it is a good arrangement.
