Western Wall and afternoon sun

In the afternoon I can feel the heat radiating off the wall. If happens to be the master bedroom wall. I can feel the difference in temp in the room compared to other rooms.
I'd love to plant some trees but I want relief now, not 5 years from now.
Would a sun shade hung vertically about 6 inches away from the wall stop that radiating

It would help tremendously.
What's the outside wall siding? Bricks? Vinyl?
Is the wall insulated?

Foam insulated. It's stone and stucco.

I have exactly the same thing. I ended up installing shade screens on the windows, which helped quite a bit.

Our living room has a west facing exterior wall and it gets brutal in there on these 100 degree days evenings. So I’m following this real close

Window tinting keeps the heat in the glass, as opposed to blinds or shades which keep the heat somewhat between the glass and the shade, where it leeches into your room.
Tint reduced the average temp of my office seven or eight degrees. Tinted every E/S/W window on my old house, my electricity bills dropped by half. It was maybe $2500 for a 5300 square foot house full of windows about 10 years ago. That was for about 20 windows, including skylights and 2nd story windows in the foyer.
