Bought 450sqft of LVP to put in the master BR. Pulled the carpet and checked the level of the concrete and found a couple of big humps that really need to be ground down before I put the LVP down. Both are about 3/8" high and the diameter of a giant tortoise shell. Not a big deal I have an angle grinder a diamond cup wheel and a shop vac. I can have them ground down in 30 minutes. My respirator isn't hanging up where it should be. I ask my son, he used my respirator last when grinding down a knife last week. He says put it in the big drawer of my tool box. Open the big drawer and I see that the respirator has been crushed when it was pinched between the drawer and some power tools underneath and broke one of the filtery do-dads off the side. No problems I'll grab one at lunch... or so I think. It's not just simple masks that are gone apparently respirators are all gone now too. None in Lowes, HD, HF, or Ace. No way I'm grinding concrete without a resperator. Guess I'll have to red-neck up a fix so I can get this damned flooring laid down.

As a lesson, get your son to grind it down without a respirator.

Depending on the steel, you should. Grinding on stainless releases chromium compounds that can be toxic.

Order an RZ mask OP, better than regular disposable masks and a lot more comfortable that typical respirators.
