Quinclorac won’t be magic on torpedo grass. You will have to be diligent.

Other than turf or a complete change over to Bermuda that's his only option. Round up will kill it but it'll be back.

Had the same problem. Area 6’x20’. Killed everything with roundup. Had to use 3 applications to finally kill that crap. It’s indestructible. Then I cut the grass on the lowest mower setting bagging it. Then ran the weed eater down to the dirt. Then laid solid sod. That was 2 years ago. So far, so good.
