Apple cider vinegar in a cup next to the drain. At night pour a small amount in the drain and cover the drain. That's for drain flies.
Fruit flies re similar but just take the garbage out daily and don't leave decaying fruit or veggies on the counter or pantry.

The ultimate tip that I read, which most people miss, is to get a stiff bristled brush and physically clean the inside of the drain and as close to the garbage disposal as possible. This helps kill eggs and proved to be the most effective for me. When I get them, I do that for 2-3 days straight. Takes about 3-5 minutes. Then do what everyone is also saying. Elbow grease is the best step and preventative.

I had some fruit flies from bananas. I took a wine glass with a top that was smaller than the middle and poured an inch of red wine in the bottom of the glass. The next morning the dead flies were in the glass. I guess they can't navigate out of the curved glass.

If you really want to do it, you could unscrew your ptrap and clog it up so it doesn't leak, then pour some bleach water or water with pesticide or something very acidic like vinegar. Fill it all up to the bottom of your sink.
I can't imagine the eggs would live past even just diluted bleach water or vinegar sitting for a couple of hours?
ETA: I would also think a large pot of boiling water, put your sink stopper in, let the water sit for a minute, then pull the sink stopper. Enough to take 1-2 mins to drain.
Basically boiling the flies and eggs. Those eggs wouldn't take the heat?

Update- moving the recycling far away from the door between garage and house to the opposite side of garage, along with the vinegar down the kitchen sink and the fly trap thingy the pest guy gave us, I think the indoor problem has been abated. However, they still swarm the recycling bin, but on the opposite side of the garage.
